Several versions of bungee jumping available, and the bungee cord can be attached to you either at your ankles (so you dive head down as you jump) or to your chest (for those who dare not look down as you plunge).

My first bungee jump was from a ski lift in the Swiss Alps with the cord attached to my ankles. The hesitation and fear comes when you're standing at the edge before leaping off. I overcame my fear by shouting Hokkien expletives at the top of my lungs on my way down, since nobody is likely to understand what I was yelling about any way, except for my SG buddies.

My next jump was from a dam, also in Switzerland. I think it's still currently the world's highest bungee. Not as scenic as the jump from the cable car, but still as thrilling if not more.

Beginners should just jump from a crane first to gain some experience as it's not as high, may be even with the cord attached to the chest. If the adrenaline rush proves addictive, then can upgrade to the higher jumps with the cord at the ankles.

This is a good tip. Too bad I did not think of this idea.
