Anyone uses gopro camera as a 'normal' camera?

No flash
No control of speed & aperture
No zoom

GoPro is firstly, a videocam.... your handphone could most likely do better photo taking.

Gopro is good if you are doing time lapse or you want a super duper wide angle with some fisheye effect.

Otherwise, modern handphone will take better pictures...

target audience.

the gopros are targetted for a hands on FOV during certain extreme sports. Its compactness, ruggedness, waterproofness and simple controls has been used as all over the world as an additional stills/video camera to complement the more sophisticated cameras being used to document any said sport.

With that being said, you can use it anyway your hearts desire. But bear in mind the limitations of the gopro as mentioned by others here

i used hero3 black with lcd display (sold separately)

over 90% sharp

good for wide shots
