Hi guys.

I just got the CM Nepton 240M slightly more than a week ago.
At default mobo settings, it runs at about 2600++ rpm and it's pretty noisy. It sounds like a HDD constantly writing.
So what I did was to reduce the rpm to below 2100 and that is the quiet point. Will ramp up to max when CPU temp goes over 75deg.
So far this arrangement seems fine and temp hovers around 35 deg in low load.

Now, is running at lower rpm advisable or am I under utilizing it's capabilities? Perhaps if any of you having the 240M can advise how you're running it.

Secondly, there are times that during startup, the pump doesnt start at all. I know this because my PC freezes up doing the simplest task. A quick look at the temps and it reaches 100deg. A quick restart (or PC restarts by itself) solves this.

ANyone familiar with this issues? I'm thinking of RMA.. but I gotta source for a spare HSF then.

Thanks for reading :o

Pump that does not start upon bootup sounds like faulty pump. CPU chip when constantly exposed to 100 degrees temps even for a few seconds will degrade quite fast over a period of usage. Contact Ban Leong for warranty ba.

sounds like a pump failure

my old Coolit ECO 240 also like that. pump failure made CPU temp shot up to about 90~

but luckily more than 5 years already

Thanks guys. Will send it back to Ban Leong soon.

Any idea on the noise? It seems to be pretty common (as searched on the net) and I'd like to know what speed do other 240M owners run their pumps at.
