Anyone went hachijojima before?

Is it possible to do it in a day? From what I see the ferry is only once a day.

i want to explore ruins

Wah you like ruin exploration? If you are visting the southern japan, you can visit gunkanjima, that area is like a ghost town. I never heard much about hachijojima ruins, what i know about that place is the nice sea view and hill climbing for explorer.

Anyway you would need at least a week to explore ruins, a day is impossible. Transportation alone is hectic and troublesome.

Ya you need to go in a group, otherwise it is a waste of his time to bring only a person. It's either you find a group of people, or you can hire a private guide which would be costly.
