Hi guys,

I ran some updates today and my AIO is no longer working. When I check device manager it appears that there is some issue with a USB driver all of a sudden. I did a system restore to before applying the updates and it did not resolve the issue.

From what I can see the AIO has completely no power now as the screen is not lighting up and the fans are no longer running either. I suspect the pump is also not working now.

Anyone come across any issues like this in the past? As a last resort I may reinstall windows on a spare HDD to see if it really is a driver issue but looking for advice from the experts in here. TIA!

Actually I just had a bright spark moment. Turned off the power completely as in the physical switch on the PSU left it for a while and turned it back on and the AIO is now running.

Next dumb problem is that my Windows seems to have just corrupted. The automatic repair fails to top it off. So I now have a buggered OS.

What sort of an update is it and when you did that system restore, is it a backup just prior to said update(same day) or ages before(several months or years ago type...)? If it's the later and you have new or changed hardware, there might be serious issues. Based on your recent post, looks like you need to clean install windows again just to be safe...

Anyway, reinstall AORUS ENGINE and RGB Fusion. Make sure they are running on windows start. You can also manually uninstall devices in device manager and let windows reinstall stuff.

It was stupid gigabyte driver updates. I’ve tried all sorts of things to restore windows and I’m pretty much screwed. I need to reinstall windows for sure now.

Amazing how a stupid manufacturers updates screwed me so badly. Let the reinstallation begin,....

For future reference, gigabyte drivers installation might lose their admin rights and don't load or be installed even when windows restarts during an autoupdate(not sure the cause, antivirus software?) as compared to manually downloading the new drivers and installing them. You should have checked if the app is running, if not, just download/install manually from gigabyte website just in case...

I’ve never experienced anything this bad before from a manufacturer. Will read more before blindly updating in future. What a painful process of reinstalling everything

Hey hafiz, not sure if reinstalling the drivers worked for you. In my case with xtreme gaming driver for my gpu, there was an instance upon installation, my top row of USB totally had no power, anything plugged in that row doesn't get detected. Uninstalling the xtreme utility revived the hub again.

After running the gigabyte updates via Gigabyre App Center I can see that something went wrong with the USB communication and no matter what I did I could not revive it. Tried to restore my system to an earlier time in hope that the "update" would have been undone but that did not work as the USB error was still observed in Device Manager. The steps I took to eventually fix this was as follows: -

1. Power off the system completely (flip the switch on the PSU) and leave it for a few mins. If I just reboot the system the pump and fans would not spring back to life - very odd.
2. Power back on and I can see that pump display and fans were working. However at this point Windows started to give me blue screen crashes which running through the recovery process could not resolve.
3. Eventually gave up and reinstalled windows and now everything is back to normal.

Very disappointed that an update managed to mess up the USB controller software somehow and that caused the pump and fans (which I have configured to be controlled by the USB header) to stop working. This is my first problem I've encountered with an AIO so I reserve my comments on them - for now.
