I've found review by notebook check.com that Aorus X7
CAN NOT perform stress test which I think a bit annoying ...

Unfortunately, we could not perform the stress test with the tools FurMark and Prime95 because the power supply shut down after a short time and the notebook only ran on battery power. We think the power supply unit is overstrained under extreme load and the provided 180 Watts are not sufficient. Even the Unigine Heaven benchmark, which does not stress the system as much, resulted in a consumption of up to 192 Watts at the socket according to our measurement device.

Does this bug fixed for V2 version ?
Anyone can find some review for this part ?

When you r stress testing your gpu, it is beyond what a normal game can handle.

Although the adaptor could not support much watts, but you should test with a real game to see if it will shut down or not.

Sure it can run when you just play game ...

My point is I want to convince my brother turn to other one, he don't need to
bring the laptop around and 17" is still very heavy and big to carry

I'll recommend him also take a look of Alienware 17/ MSI GT 72 instead

If he insist on silm one, Razer Blade and MSI GS 70 could also be options

yes but the aorus is one of the lightest around!. only msi gs70 is lighter. and performance of 860m sli gpu is better than a single 880m card in alienware and msi GT72 in sli optimized games. and the aorus costs less than these 2. if im not wrong msi gt72 highest config is at 4k alienware also costs around there. also aorus has 3 ssd in raid so loading speeds will be faster. and its a new model. its by far the best slim gaming laptop out there. for sure wins msi gs70 and razer blade

Hi,i had check with aorus side and they mention that their adapter is ADAPTER*200W*A200A005L CHICONY
OUTPUT(19V/10.5A) for v2 and 180W is for aorus x7 v1.

And I heard Aorus X7 disable Intel UMA graphic so when streaming also consumer lots of CPU resource ?

Did they test the CPU usage % when playing game and do video streaming on Twitch ?

since u say he doesnt need to bring laptop around just get a big and fat one which offers better cooling and performance. dont get those slim and portable if u plan on leaving it at home all the time.

Personally I am not a fan of multi-GPU solution at this point. This is heavily reliant on driver and don't work that well often. In a laptop, SLI can run really hot.

Furthermore, I believe that when SLI is enabled, Nvidia's Optimus GPU switch technology won't work.
