My PTSD symptoms were triggered near the end of my first BMT week. Was sent to hospital from home and given 3 days of MC as I was worried about OOC from too much medical leave and I had stabilised by the time we arrived at the A&E.

Went back to camp after MC and was told by my MO that *** wants to see me on the coming Friday. Was surprised at the short notice but thought it was a routine thing to review those with "certain" problems in the initial weeks after enlistment so didn't think much.

The bombshell dropped when the *** MO gave me 60 days of MC during the MA and put me up for PES F. The reason was the risk of aggravating my condition due to some of the military environmental factors (imagine if CMPB worked as fast, I won't have been stuck in PES D for close to a year pre-enlistment back then).

Should I appeal? Since the status is not finalised yet within these 60 days so might still have chance to remain in service? As my triggers are VERY specific, I was wondering if it is thus possible to serve in another force (SCDF or SPF) where the triggers may not be present, if SAF's concern is about the military system's effect on me.

Notwithstanding my current recovering knee injury and my psychological issue, I am physically quite able.

Cannot just think about yourself. Your condition might affect others.

Yeah that was one of my concerns too, that's why I am not sure if I should appeal.

However my doctors are of the opinion that a non-military setting should not be adverse to my condition as the triggers are absent, if I do proceed to appeal.

I have no issue with regimentation. It is more of an aversion to specific physical settings/layouts.

What’s the outcome you want to achieve?

Continue to serve but in a capacity that does not need to expose myself to the triggers, of which I believe there are roles that fit that nature.
There must be a reason why they think PES F is suitable for you and not PES E. I don’t believe they give out PES F easily.

If they were to issue you PES F, It's definitely too serious. Right now, you should be focusing on the road to recovery.

I suffered the same case as you...
