Hi Mods/Admin,

I have received an infraction today for this post. https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...n-higher-than-u-6282153-43.html#post128839838

It was just a joke, and I have repeated that it is just a joke many times in the thread. It was never meant to cause any ill feelings or that I actually want people to commit suicide.

I have since apologized to the person affected by my post even before I received the infraction.

Hi Mod, here is how DS apology look like

Hey I already said I was joking.
I apologise if my joke went too far. You relax ok?

Her apology is only if I feel that it went too far. Even after I replied to her poor attempt at apologizing, she tried to masquerade further by asking me to relax and not to take it serious. It is all just a joke. Till now, her actions at attempting to plead for a reverse in infraction shows that she still treat all this as a joke. And that she does not deserve this infraction at all.

This shows that asking someone to commit suicide is not out of place at all.
I urge the Mods to think about the consequences if we are to allow this kind of unrestrained posting from users. While jokes are common in EDMW, to simply ask a user to commit suicide simply because he is of low income is out of place and unbecoming of a human.

Besides the post that she quoted and tried to "joke" is a post saying that low income does not deserve to be in love. She went even one step further and guided that person (me) to commit suicide.

I don't think it is proper to even demand to reverse the infraction simply because it is a joke. Does it mean I can make ill intention-ed comments and laugh it off as a joke?
Words have consequences and there are certain lines that should not be crossed.

Why is there a pre-condition on you deleting the post? If you really believe that you have done something wrong, it doesn’t matter whether your appeal is successful or not, you should still delete it as you yourself said your post may cause distress to certain members.

It doesn’t seem like you are genuine.

Because if they don't reverse my infraction, I cannot delete the post.
The forum options does not allow me to.

I have also apologised to the person who was offended. If he still continues to feel offended, there is nothing else I can do. I even asked him what else he wants me to do so he can feel better, he cannot reply me.

https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/128841045-post724.html

He even said that if ask him jump bedok reservoir, it is ok because it is inside joke. But jump kallang river is not ok. Hence, ask him jump Bedok reservior is not offending in nature, but kallang river is?

I will also remove my post if my infraction is removed.

I do not mind taking above steps for remediation. So what further action would you like me to do?

Paging for Dr.Vijay

Yup. I didn't see. Just read it.
edited the offending post.

I suggest you be careful of what you post.

If you are a target, someone will just report you for the slightest issues.

I believe this was what happened to mummy too.

You have offended people, editing your post doesn’t change the fact. Take this as a lesson learnt.
