Camera misalignment. Wanted to realign, but they say cannot.

well this is good news.. whats seems to be the problem from your previous iphone?

i bought my iphone few days ago but i just realized that right now i cant make any phone calls
my microphone wont work at all and i cant hear any voice from the other end
another problem, my earphone jack wont work as well. tried plugging my earphone but the sound only came out from iphone speaker, not the headset
by any chance i can have AASP replace my iphone with new set?
whats my best bet? QCD or A.LAB? whats the different between those 2?
any help greatly appreciated
thx

Applecare extends warranty for the 2nd year and adds Coverage for up to two incidents of accidental damage, each subject to a S$108 service fee.

If i send my 2nd hand iPhone 6 plus (with AppleCare) for repair at ALab or QCD

It is still under warranty based on the serial number on the phone but i dont have any receipt

Will they still do the repair?

They will check the serial number to see if it's valid warranty

They don't check/need receipt/proof of purchase

guys, my iphone 6 plus recently stop working after exposed to rain in my bag, not fully drop to water or anything. the camera is blurry, touch id not working, cannot charge, speaker also gone.. I exposed my phone to rain quite often and it usually works just fine, but not this time.

I did turn it on becoz i overestimated its ability to withstand rain, after that i found those problems.. Question is: my phone is still under 1 year limited warranty, Im taking it to alabs to try my luck, do they charge me service fee or any fee just for checking the phone? I know water damage is not covered in warranty..

Water damage is not under warranty...there is once, my iPhone got water damage, I send to third party, they change my water sensor, and send to Apple service center to get 1 to 1 exchange, as that time they never do repair in singapore

Apple support/warranty is now subject to Service Providers' Discretions (Bottom-lines)

I gonna share my experience for you to decide.

I powered up my iPhone 6 and found some a smudge along the right edge, so I contacted the apple chat line and uploaded some photos for their evaluation. I was advised to bring it to a service centre, however, as the smudge looks strange I want to confirm if it was a claimable case before I spend my time. They couldn't confirm.

So I brought in the phone to A.Lab at Changi City Point, the counter staff claimed it was a pressure damage, however agreed to upload more photos to Apple Tech Support and escalated the case for further evaluation and advised me to call Apple directly after an hour.

I called the toll free line and an adviser confirmed that a replacement is possible after consulting his senior and advised me to speak to A.Lab and request a replacement.

I approached A.Lab and was told that the person in charge was on a break and advised me to come back in 2 hours. I returned in 2 hours and was told that replacement is not possible. And asked me to contact Apple support again on my own substitute phone, after explaining to another person in Apple support, he requested to speak to A.Lab. As my android phone was running out of battery, the call was cut off during the conversation between A.Lab and Apple.

Upon returning home, I contacted the Apple Chatline again as I has the recording of my first tele-conversation with Apple support. I was told to my shock, that Apple service provider has the full authority to refuse service even under warranty and as in this case A.Lab thought the screen was damaged by pressure. And my recording will not be entertained as it was not consented by Apple.

I was very angry not because the set was not replaced but to the evasiveness of Apple support and A.Lab.

If A.Lab thought that the screen was not serviceable then they should refuse me the first instance. However, they escalated the case and upload photos and advised me to call Apple Support. And this wasted more that 4 hours of my time.

And whatever advice/confirmation Apple Support gave can no longer rely upon as final decision rest with service providers.

Given the new contractual relationships of Apple and its service providers, I could imagine that the service providers would refuse as many claims as possible since they affect their bottom-lines. And Apple support would not intervene even for some grey cases.

Anyway, my iPhone screen seems to recover after I restored from backup and I swore to myself not to trust Apple warranty and pay to extend warranty cause the service providers would go all out to protect their bottom lines.

have anyone tried the apple express replacement service?
for non apple care, we need to pay the 38$ fee, and apple is going to send in a new iphone, while old iphone is being checked. are we able to refuse the off-warranty repair cost if they detect the water damage becoz i dun want to end up paying hefty charges?

I think you should contact Apple again. I called Apple directly this morning and they waived off $550 of replacement fee. Here's my story:

I sent in my iPhone 6 after I my iPhone cannot be powered on after switching it off the previous night. After 2 days, a.lab sent me an email with a quotation of $550 for the replacement handset as they claimed that my LCI has been triggered. To my surprise, I've never spill any liquid over my phone nor I've used it under the rain. After some heated exchange of emails, I decided to call Apple for help.

This hardware specialist that I've talked to also found the situation weird so after checking my account, he told me he will do everything he can to waive off the replacement fee as he mentioned that I'm a loyal Apple fan since I've bought every iPhones and nearly all category of their products. LOL! He told me not to worry and he will settle everything for me.

Soon after, he called me back and told me that he has spoken to the manager of a.lab. He was able to waive off the replacement fee and even got him to prepare a replacement phone for me (even though I've already told him I already have a spare phone). He kept apologizing as my phone was down like as if it was his fault and kept asking if I was happy or satisfied with the outcome.

I've always heard Apple has world class customer service and after today's incident, I have never been more certain about. My advice to you is to call Apple again and slowly explain your situation to them. They are not a unreasonable bunch unlike authorized service providers. I believe you will find a solution soon.

i just on my iphone with 5% left battery then quickly backup to icloud before it dies. now i notice a crack inside the glass? the tempered glass and iphone glass is fine, so weird..

now it finally dies completely, cannot charge cannot on, so i officially announce my iphone 6 plus has rested in peace.. 4th October 2014 .. 18 September 2015, age 11 months. I hope apple can give a replacement without any charge.. fingers crossed... going to engage the apple ERS. I have peeked into the sim tray with all my might and see no red.

anyone know what is happening on alab repair status "pending replacement"?
there are a total of 4 steps: Send In, Pending Replacement, Unit Replaced, Ready to collect...

does it mean it is being repaired? or getting a refurbished phone from apple? or checking for water damage/unauthorized mod? no clue as this has been like that for 4 days

Verifying certain points like eligibility to repair/replace.
Replacement of devices or parts could be shipping from elsewhere.
Awaiting higher level authorization approval to replace/repair etc...

Your case would probably be awaiting confirmation or parts.

Express Replacement Service

Hi guys.. wanna ask you something..

My iPhone is under under AppleCare+. I called Apple and created case ID, made payment (floating charge), etc yesterday late afternoon.

how long does it take to receive the replacement unit?

Woud it be delivered through DHL or something? so that I can arrange for re-delivery if I am not at home.
