Loved Infuse on iOS, but I very much prefer Air Video on ATV. Much better performance, more intuitive interface and controls (10s FF and rewinds), and Infuse seems to mess up my folders, IDK why.

Air Video cannot stream videos from NAS, right? You need to leave your PC constantly on to share the video to your Apple TV?

As for Infuse 4 for Apple TV, they are progressively adding new enhancements & features.

Additions/fixes planned for 4.0.1
  • Add 10 sec video seeking when tapping edges of touch pad
  • Ability to clear recently watched
  • Separate Dolby & DTS passthrough settings
  • Scroll down from bottom of grid view to get to the top
  • Minor UI improvements

Features planned for 4.1
  • Watched/unwatched indicators
  • Dark mode option
  • Custom artwork for favorite icons

Features planned for 4.x
  • Library view w/ deep folder scanning
  • List view
  • Search
  • iCloud library sync

I tried AirPlay with my MacBook Pro. The video playback is very sluggish. Anyone encounter the same thing?

Don't need to keep checking. The forum said no chance it will be release by end of this year. But beta version should be out. There's teaser by MrMC showing kodi on ATV4 on his forum

MrMC was released yesterday on the ATV store.

What does this mean now? Considering this version does not support user add-ons/plugins....

It means the source code for the changes MrMC made to Kodi to get it working on the ATV4 will be published, and rolled back into the Kodi project.

Once Kodi is updated with the changes, it will compile in XCode for tvOS as it already does for iOS. Then you can sideload it on to the ATV4 (the full Kodi, including add ons). You need a USB type A to type C cable to sideload it though.

I've purchased both Infuse and MrMC. I've used Kodi/xbmc for many years (for local files, never bothered with those addons like ice film etc) and thought this would be the software I'd use on the ATV.

However, between MrMC and Infuse, I'm preferring Infuse by a wide margin. The stock skin on MrMC looks like crap. It also doesn't work well with the remote.

I took the time last week to reorganise my files so Infuse would correctly fetch the metadata for them and sort them correctly. Very happy with it now. The only pending issue for me with it is the lack of iso file support.

If MrMC can support add-ons, then nice! Time to buy.

So I guess buying MrMC is not necessary.
The wait is on..
I did managed to get Kodi via side load into my iPhone 6s and it worked great.

Btw I thought the Type A to C cable is just the normal microUSB Cable?

Hi

Just curious, if i wan to steam show from my NAS Storage, is it only ATV 4 can do it with application?
Can my old ATV 3 or Samsung Smart TV have any application that can stream show directly from my NAS?

My videos file format are mostly MKV, MP4, RMV, AVI, WMV.
