Other than the Siri remote, I can’t seemed to think of what other hardware upgrades can be done to the Apple TV 4K...

Better processor and upgraded I/O as well.

Not worth it if you have the Apple TV HD and if more than 80% of your viewing entertainment is not in 4K...

Bit wasted since mine’s a 4K TV. Anyway, thanks for the advice. Will wait out and hope for new model soon. Hopefully Apple gets the codec thingy sorted out. Am contented with HD on my Netflix & Apple TV+.

Regarding IPTV Smarters...
Have u used other IPTV services before? It’s more or less same. I only use it to watch US, Asian TV channels. There’s tons of EPL channels to choose from but I hardly watch anyway. But interface on APPLE TV is kinda lousy. For Live TV section, it’s still ok. But for the VOD (movies), there is no ‘sort’’ function unlike the Android ver. But the movies are all very good quality.

The IPTV Smarters can download straight from TVOS App Store.

Challenger has Xbox One S 1TB two controller pack or one controller one game bundle on sale at S$299.

This might be a good alternative to Apple TV 4K.

XBox One S is a capable streaming box with quite some Streaming apps like Netflix, Kodi, Plex, YouTube, etc.

On gaming side it will beats Apple TV 4K and NVidia Shield TV hands down.

PS4 1TB is also on offer at S$369 for the Mega Pack bundle. That is another option as well.

Well thats true.
But both gaming devices do not have access to the vast app store (respectively). And no "grey" IPTV apps.

But you do have a good point really. I sometimes do use my PS4 for Netflix and such.

To me Dragon Tv is the most stable. But it does not work on Apple OS.

Actually I just bought the Xbox One S and my first impression is pretty positive.

Got IPTV player apps which work well.

Got RSS player app which works well.

Got iQiyi, Mango TV and Sohu Video Chinese version. Missing Youku and Tencent Video though.

Got Edge browser but unfortunately SingTel Cast does not work from the edge player.

Got free and paid apps from the Microsoft Store as well for live TV, movie and drama.

Got Kodi and Plex as well (not tested). VLC Player works well with my WD Mycloud personal NAS.

Got a paid app which claims to support Airplay and Google Cast but I do not need the app and do not want to try.

Got 4K UHD Blu-ray player function and support Netflix 4k. Has YouTube app and Amazon Prime Video app as well.

Yes, once you play a Dolby Atmos film/show then will have the logo beside it.

Yes, did it to install some US apps but that doesn’t mean you can use it without an US IP

Using it on my Mi Box S and I have to say the interface not very intuitive for their On-Demand Option for Live Option still okay-ish but some streams are not available or are very laggy.

I believe yes to a new Apple TV box. Apple TV 4k is good but a bit old. So they will in the end refresh it, hopefully before next Christmas.

As for large screen TV, then it is highly unlikely since Apple is now working with Samsung and other TV vendors to integrate Apple TV+ and Airplay 2 function into the vensors' TV platform.

Perharps they will, with the introduction of HDMI 2.1 and maybe also will introduce their own brand of game controllers to pair with Apple Arcarde.

We have RSS Players to watch video feeds on our IOS devices. But is there any native app on the Apple TV for RSS video feeds? I can't seem to find any.

Have to resort to Airplay.

You should be happy with cast. In fact even on Android TV OS based boxes like Mi Box S, it is actually better to use RSS player on mobile phone and cast to TV with the built-in Chromecast function.

Airplay is good ( even though I tend to like Chromecast a bit better).

For example I use Airplay to cast Singtel Cast to watch CNN and History channel on my dumb TV through my old Apple TV 3rd gen, from our iPhones.

I also use Chromecast to case SingTel Cast to the TV from our Android phones through my old Chromecast 1st gen. Yes my Mi Box S does support SingTel Cast but I tend to use Cast more often.
