Hi,

wondering why my apple tv so slow. using iphone5 to mirror it and my house is running on fiber.

it lags alot!

If atv also on wifi, it'll lag abit.
My atv is wired so when I mirror with iPad/iPhone, rather smooth.

ATV will lag when it does mirroring. Nothing to do with your setup.
I'm on LAN and I mirror my desktop to my TV and it lags from time to time also.

some people with good router setup might be able to eliminate much of the lagness, but i think a little lag is inevitable.

Degree of lag is dependent on the quality of your router; nothing to do with your home Internet speed.

How laggy is the airplay mirroring?
1-2 sec behind every gesture? (Play/pause/forward etc)

for mine mirroring lags about .5 to max 1s.

sorry to tag on but does anyone here face the problem of airplay dropping halfway through a film?
i use the plex app on my ipad and airplay it to my apple tv / led and sometimes my movie will just drop.
i try to fire it up again but the airplay option is not available and i need to go to the settings on my atv to toggle on / off the airplay to get it going again.

i noticed this happened when i moved the router to another room. but my house isn't really that big to cause such a problem. am using the old airport extreme

I think yr problem is yr router (airport). Go try the ASUS routers. Swear by their quality.

My situation is that I'm forced to use the Starhub's router/gateway, and the wireless transmissions are erratic.

I also thought it's the router problem and i've been beoing the asus routers on amazon. Just waiting for an excuse to buy them..

Are you on the 5GHz range and if not, which channel are you using? That may sometimes be a big enough difference to improve your ATV performance. In addition, any interfering device that may cause the wifi signal to be weakened?
