Don't buy the spig stand yet as watch is 2 support a new mode called night stand mode and it only works if your watch is in landscape

Yeah I was looking at the Spigen and Griffin stands at Nubox (Bedok) the other day and was debating it... given the price isn't cheap ($75 and $45 respectively- or thereabouts) I thought I'd rather sit tight and wait for one which supports nightstand as I actually need that mode (I have no light up clock in my room!)

Interestingly the Nubox staff said that only stores which don't stock the actual Apple Watch are allowed to sell third party accessories... and that's why the Bedok store has a couple of stands, cases, screen protectors and third party leather wrist band. Note the wrist band looked meh but cost $100+!

Whatsapp dun have native apple watch version yet. Enable preview mode in your whatsapp to be able to read the front portion of the msg on whatsapp. Line and imessage can read and reply

Do you mean enable the notifications which include preview of the messages?

I am trying to find the right balance here because my Whatsapp is full of various group chats which can be quite "loud" during the day with nonsense.

I switch off group notifications because it is very distracting. It should be made like Wechat where we can off notification for individual chat. Haha!

Either way at their prices, I didn't buy anything... lol.

That's the biggest problem with the Apple Watch. It's got a stigma of "I've got money so rip me off" attached to it which doesn't apply (as much) to the iPhone.

Yup agree. Prices of MFI stuff seem to be proportionate to the cost of the apple equipment itself lol. But the design and workmanship is generally good.

The current spigen stand holds up the watch in landscape mode just fine.

Anywhere else got stock? It's nice to be able to see before buying... but I'm still not convinced I need a case for the watch.

Hmm I remember reading some of these stands didn't activate Night Stand mode when horizontal. Anyone can confirm using watchOS2 beta?

I think it's got nothing to do with the stand. As long as your watch is placed sideways while being charged by the charging puck, the landscape mode will kick in. So as long as your stand can hold up your watch in that manner, your watch will have the nightstand mode.

On a side note, why is everyone so into this nightstand mode? I rather be wearing my watch while I sleep because it is more beneficial to me rather than just being a nightstand clock IMO.

In general, we do not need a case for the watch. It is more of a 'want'. I share the same sentiment as others that it reduces the watch's aesthetics. But... I can't help myself putting on cases on my digital devices - so I got one for the watch. ;-)

I can't speak for others but for me I don't have a (visible) clock at night when I'm sleeping, and my Watch will definitely be charging at this time, so it makes the most sense to me. When do you charge yours?

There have been some reviews of stands which said the horizontal angle wasn't sufficient to enable night stand mode hence why I think there is concern. May not be a deal breaker for some but for me I actually want this feature. Besides, I find it hard to activate the watch screen when sleeping without relying on pushing the button.

for me applecare+ put my mind in rest and I just ahead and use the watch as is. End of the day just replace it if there is damage.

beside buy screen protector + case not equal to confirm won't scratch or damage the watch not to mention make the whole watch so ugly.

just my 2 cents thought.
