Yup no need so tight. The smooth material + the bulging design of the sensor back ensures good capillary stickiness and contact with the skin, well at least in my case, since there is great variation in wrist shapes and sizes between individuals.
Am I the only person really enjoying the Apple Watch? I love how it keeps me on my toes and alerts me to all my messages. I'm using the phone less and that is a good thing.
Ordered the milanese loop on Sunday and waiting for the delivery now. Apple says it's with the delivery guy.
My experience with the Apple Watch HR sensor is very good. It's very accurate and results very consistent as well. I've been using the Garmin Forerunner heart rate chest straps, and also the Mio Fuse optical HR sensor. In my experience, the Apple Watch HR sensor is much more accurate than the Mio Fuse Optical sensor (its optical HR technology used and licensed out to many incl TomTom, Garmin, Adidas), and the Garmin HR chest-strap.
The problem with other optical HR sensor design like Mio or Fitbit in my opinion is mainly the environmental light leaks contaminating the measurement, and hence the snug/tight fit needed to get good reliable readings. For the case of chest-straps the conductivity from skin to strap is important. I have a slender and bony concave wrist (the concave groove created between the radius and ulna bone), and hence it's easy for light leaks to happen. But the Apple Watch's concave sensor design fits snugly onto my wrist without the need to tighten the strap too much. In fact I noticed no matter how I twisted my wrist, the bulging and curved Apple optical sensor back is always in full contact and coverage with the skin, unlike Mio's or Fitbit's flat back design, skin contact can be intermittently lost and light leaks from the green LED can be seen. Well that's my experience so far after 3 weeks of usage.

I love the apple watch. Great product. I am looking forward to OS2
Just found out the black sport band is peeling inside. Sian.
It's normal. There will be marks on the inside of the band after the first day of wear and that's the same for my replacement black band, as long as the outside isn't obvious.
agree. sometimes i charge overnight and then b4 i go out and wear the watch, it feels very warm sia! lolzApple Watch gets really warm when you charge it overnight and especially in Singapore's climate. It'll definitely have an impact on the battery life.
The workaround is to put your Apple Watch in airplane mode before placing it to charge.
But not as hot as the 360 moto. That one is really hot and thus will not full charge. Apple watch is still bearableApple Watch gets really warm when you charge it overnight and especially in Singapore's climate. It'll definitely have an impact on the battery life.

Wear and tear, I can understand that. In just a day like you claim and for mine is like 2 weeks, this is unacceptable. Given the price of the watch, the band quality is bad. My mi band fair better. Other color band not much affected, only the black ones. Hope Apple rectify this band issue and future black band won't be affected. I am not going for a replacement now.
Btw can one buy apple watch off the shelf at apple retailers or is it just available online? How about the charger & straps?
Isn't the strap like $80? Any strap costing $80 shouldn't be like that, let alone if its from a supposedly reputable brand like Apple. Even those $50 Casio watches (and that's a watch, not just a strap!) don't peel.Wear and tear, I can understand that. In just a day like you claim and for mine is like 2 weeks, this is unacceptable. Looks like this is gonna end up being a costly purchase. There are still some stocks available at Nubox Tampines Mall but limited. straps wise as of early this week only have 38mm blue and green sport bands. Black ones have both sizes but 42mm limited. The rest of the bands no stock but ION Epicenter got the leather loops, Milanese and link straps available, but that's also over a week back.
