AppleCare+ or Singtel Mobile Swop

Hi All

Did you buy AppleCare+ or MobileSwop?

Considering that Mobileswop covers water damage(mentioned by CSO) but i don't see it on the T&C, is the Singtel Mobileswop a better deal?

Anyone with 1/2 a brain will skip mobileswap

1. you are paying $8/month ... which is $96 / 1 year
At least with AppleCare+@ $228, I get a 2 years warranty instead

2. Usually for iPhone, it cost over $1k ... that means as per mobileswap's FAQ, if you need a swop, it will cost $190 / or a replacement fee of $550

3. Original warranty rendered void, and you will be given a 6 months warranty instead by Singtel

4. According to the FAQ, you may get a different brand / model than what you have purchased

I can understand if folks using Android phones subscribe to Mobile Swap. But for iPhone users, Mobile Swap is a ripoff compared to AppleCare+.

That is if you happen to be overseas and need a visit to the Store.

erm some clarification ...

(1) AppleCare+ does not cover replacement of lost devices. MobileSwopUp covers both damaged & lost devices. Somemore can get replacement unit within 4 hours.

(2) I think AppleCare+ charges you $150 for swopping phones too. $228 + $150, you pay more upfront?

(4) if stock shortage, i think can wait for the same model to come in. applecare+ also same same. dependable on stocks. my apple watch with applecare, i had to wait a few days cos stock issues.

Lost phone you have to pay $550, and they reserve the rights to change the brand / model etc

At that price point. I would rather get a brand new device
For new AppleCare+ , replacement of screen is around $40+ ... Which is the most common issue

The good point is of cos if you had cosmetic damages to your device, you can jus pay about 190 to swop before you sell off your device or upgrade to a new one. They only asked the reason why you are changing but they won't reject whatever reason you give.

I agree with you, mobileswop is better compared to AppleCare

Also if you were to lose your iphone, you can get a replacement for $550(waaaay cheaper then buying retail price for a new phone)

I believe getting Apple Care is better than Singtel Mobile Swop because Singtel may anytime play punk and decide to change some terms and conditions. For example, they implement the admin fee out of sudden. Just my two cents worth.
