Hi all, to keep a long story short, so I am a local contact applying a travel visa for my Chinese colleague who wanted to bring his 3 children and wife here. So everything was applied on the ICA website, each pax costs $30. After 2 days, received notification that his wife and 1 child's Visa had been approved but 2 of his children was rejected. So not knowing the reason of the rejection, I asked around and peers said that I could file for a review and appeal.
I called in and all they told me was to email in so I did. After 3 days of waiting I managed to get a reply saying that it was rejected because the name had no spacing like in the passport. Eg LIM ENHUI was her name, sent LIM EN HUI
So the solution they provided was to apply for a fresh one which due to a spacing, I have to pay again $30 x all 4 pax again which I think is so unfair?? Couldnt they make an option for amendments and re-submissions?
For work I have applied some permits etc to LTA, BCA, I feel that it should be done similarly to LTA permit applications & BCA applications portals which an admin fee is only charged once, for LTA is where we did the initial submission and made payments, while any rejections were allowed to make amendments and edits for any shortage of documentations on the portal without a second admin charge. Or BCA's portal in which in which the payment is only made after the submissions and permits are approved, but payment is then followed up last after everything to make it official and generate permit after payment is made, which I think it is fair.
Is there anything I can do about this? Seems unjustified to pay $30 x 4 for a whole fresh application just because of a spacing which could have been edited easily should I have the option to. In the case of a second or third rejection due to some other reasons again, do ICA's solution is for me to keep submit a new application every time? Seems like a snowballing and hefty expense. I don't think calling or emailing would work because the operators are kinda like AI and repeat textbook answers. Thanks!
