hello everyone,

right now im in the process in customizing wp theme to mobile responsive.

I am using chrome viewport to stimulate mobile devices to review the "new" theme.

My question is it possible if I get a recommendation for your go to mobile device stimulation application especially for apple base devices as I realize the chrome stimulation is not accurate.

Appreciate the recommendation, thanks in advance

The term you should use is "simulate".

If you're just doing a responsive web, why wouldn't the simulation in chrome be accurate? In what way it is inaccurate?

So far I've been using chrome itself and it is pretty accurate

pardon my engrish.. btw thanks for the reply @swiftbladez . The appearance of the website is not accurate. example, there is a social media on the right side of the website. when viewed on chrome it looks out of place and on tablet looks ok.

i have tried screenfly, mobiletest.me as well as ipadpeek.com .. they didnt give the same output as the actual ipad mini

Unfortunately chrome's simulation and options is probably the most powerful and accurate tool you can have as compared to a real actual device. What you can do is to play around with the options like viewport settings etc. but the mobile browser might still render differently.

There is really no way around. Maybe you can try Opera's mobile emulator http://www.opera.com/developer/mobile-emulator but then again it emulates users using their mobile browser and thus if using say iphone's safari or other browsers might be different too.

Even so, nothing beats having a real device for testing if you are serious in ensuring your iOS audience has the best user experience. Simulator cannot fully test out quirks of the actual device especially when you have a lot of javascript events firing and on different kind of software and hardware architecture, the outcome can be subtly different even if it is the same reference of the HTML5 implementations. Notice I use same reference, I did not use same implementation. Same reference mostly refer to behaviour and outcome, but doesn't means when things start participating with each other, the outcome must be the same. Any standard reference only dictate when is being mentioned and they are normally not exhaustive, so some get into the grey area and up to implementors interpretation.

Also, most WP themes don't implement responsive typography. If yours doesn't you will need to. I recommend going with sass and using webpack to compile to plain css. Use the golden-ratio sass plugin to scale your graphics easily and plainly, with break points baked in to boot.

Also remember to use prefix loader in webpack to ensure that all vendor prefixes get attached to your css rules. Otherwise it will **** up. Trust me
