Is there really any difference between the various CCs or are they more or less the same?

Yes i was in this line a few years back, it depends what you want out of the card.
Example: Cash rebates?
Miles?
Golfing related services?

Recently cash rebates and miles are the most sought after cards. Also depends on age, now there is this YOLO card catered for different needs.

i was very close to some colleagues working in this area last time not exactly my forte but i consider myself handling quite well lol. but since i left i have not exactly followed up. But you go check out a few cards.
I didnt use the UOB delight card coz it didnt suit my lfestyle. To max out the rebates, you need the card to suit your lifestyle.

Currently these are the cards i use:
1) Dividend - all groceries, petrol and dining
2) UOB One Card- All other misc, i try to hit $2k monthly to earn $300 cash back quarterly. I usually get to do that by paying company bills using this card
3) As i hit sufficient miles close to 400K miles i stopped using . any excess from the 2 cards i will put into my UOB priv miles or DBS miles. Amex offers pretty good mile cards check them out.
4) buying big purchases esp during GSS or Xmas, i uses Manhattan card. spend $6k one shot and earn $200 cash back quarterly. if coupled with promotion maybe can get other stuff.

if your salary is 120K and above can apply infinite card - go compare, can get good miles.

i didnt like my infinite card because most banks need u to pay hefty amt of annual fees. so canceled it. but usually they give you good gifts for renewal of annual fees.

hope this helps.

These varies a lot depending on your spending pattern and the degree of complexity u r willing to accept. It varies widely from 0.3 percent to 10 percent but majority of the better ones are 1-5 percent rebate. Miles are mostly 1-4 miles per dollar spent.

For a start, a simpler card to use is Amex true cashback giving 1.5 percent rebate in same billing cycle.
