j/k don't ban me pls
back to topic though, apu has already sort of replaced low end gpu in case you havent notice it bah - we used to have the ultra low end cards like GT610
now is.. <insert cpu here> since in terms of media features, the baseline has been there since 7th gen intel and raven ridge amd got released into the wild
then again, im only looking at things from the htpc perspective
not entirely sure of server side myself - apologies for generalisingWill never happen.
Server-grade processors don't ship with an iGPU. And there are usecases where enterprises or users want the compute power of extreme high-end multi-processor workstations but have no need for a comparable graphics solution.
That's the reason low-end solutions like the Quadro NVS310 and the Radeon Pro WX2100 exist. Or the GT720 and GT1030.
Even with current ddr4 bottleneck, ryzen 2200g and 2400g has started replacing the low end gpu market
Once ddr5 come out, i think ryzen apu will replace the low end 30,50 series
Do u agreed?
U r only looking at it from a gamer’s/budget point of view.
From a higher-end system point of view, low-end GPUs like GT730 and GT1030 still act perfectly as backup GPUs. Coz systems on HEDT platforms (X99, X299, X399 etc) do not come with integrated GPUs. And if the dedicated GPUs in these systems fail, these low-end GPUs act as temporary cards to access the system to retrieve data/recover stuff from the OS. This is unlike mainstream CPUs from Intel and AMD where u can still use the iGPU/APU to recover OS stuff when the dedicated GPU fails.
