I sought emergency treatment in Japan before and I am very impressed by their level of care. Although I did wait long, they did not make me feel outcast as a foreigner.

Lol.... my waifu from China... She is surprised by how crazy the wait times are here. Do a medical checkup, have to wait several hours to get the test done. Then have to come back next day, and wait several hours more for results.

She said in China, such a procedure, you request it from the doctor, the doctor will get arrange it to be done immediately, have the results out in 30mins, and you will be in and out of the hospital in under 2hrs, and won't even have to come back next day. All subsidised by the state too.
Yes. But we always like to blow our trumpet say sg health system very good compare to here and there, same with mrt.

Our system is not built for 6.9m or future 10m ppl. Not enough space and capacity. They will just create more hoops to jump before u get treatment to manage the crowd / priority. Same like telephone banking. Ask u press 123456 before u can talk to customer service, just that this is playing ppl life

I remember when arriving at Haneda airport got big signage to remind tourist if they never settle medical bills there and just fly home, next time come again got problem. Something like that.

I believe it was based on past experience for them. If you have travel insurance, as I suppose is a must when travelling, shouldn't be a concern.

Don't skimp on that to save budget.
