Hi all,
just did some component upgrades to my PC as my previous build's case fans and CPU AIO were failing.
my current new build is as such:
Lianli TU150 non-TG
i5 8600K (reused, not overclocked at all)
Asrock Z370m ITX ac (reused)
Bequiet Dark Rock 4 (new)
Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 3200Mhz CL16 (new)
MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X (reused)
4 x Thermaltake Riing PLus 12 PWM case fans (3 intake, 1 rear exhaust)
my i5 CPU current idle temps is 38-40 deg (especially during afternoons when it gets warm in the room) and GPU is around 38 deg.
I know my GPU temps are ok but would like to seek opinion for CPU idling temps. previously was using 120mm AIO and CPU temps were around 34 deg idling. was expecting CPU temps to improve since the TDP of Dark Rock 4 is 25% higher than the previous AIO.
Should i be pursuing lower idling temps for both CPU and GPU? has implications as just found out the new thermaltake fans cannot control fan curve via mobo.. it is a software controlled pre-set curve by thermaltake from the fan controller. i am currently struggling to accept it as during idling (fans all set to PWM mode via the software controller) the fans run at 580-600rpm and this is just too low to keep CPU/GPU temps like before, although i must say the whole build has become super quiet.
