Kinda outdated for CPU and for your accounting software does it required good processing power or what's the requirements for the software?

outdated cpu and motherboard

as the motherboard age , more likely for capacitor to fail

since using the computer to earn money , get a proper new one ... with ~$150 budget for cpu+mobo

Think about how long you want to use the rig? With that aged hardware, hard to survive a year from now.

No choice, my sis insisted that i install more ram n ssd for her pc though i explained that the motherboard and or psu may not last for another 2 yrs. I even recommended a better specs used laptop (with ssd) for only $300+.

End up spending $25 for 2x2gb ram and $90 for 250gb ssd. OS reinstalled, without junk software from manufacturer. The end result is good with speed improvement as the boot is faster and os is snappy. If motherboard dies, i can still sell the ram probably $10 and reuse ssd. Hence not much loss. Anyway she is happy with the amount of money spent for the current upgrades.

Software always state their minimum and recommended system requirements.

You just do the comparison check lor.

We don't know which accounting software and Microsoft Office version you're using. Impossible for anyone to comment. For example, the system requirements for Office 97 and Office 2016 are vastly different.

For office work, LGA 775 is good enough. I recently upgraded my E8400/HP Pegatron MB rig with 8 GB of DDR2 and it's fast enough for everything except heavy gaming.
