Hi, will be travelling to guangzhou at 17th November 2013 by Jetstar, which means will reach around 12.50am.
Aware that there are actually taxis at the public area, just one concern that there is actually 6 people in our group

My concern is regarding the safety (like they bring us around some dark dark places as there are elderly and young children in the group)
Is it possible for the taxi to take 6 passengers to the hotel?
Or should we split taxis? (3 each for 2 taxis)

Also, how much will the taxi fare cost from the airport to Tavernew Hotel?

And sorry to be longwinded, what attractions are family friendly, and shopping areas, Things to eat and things to buy?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks alot!

You will have to take 2 taxis. Have one follow the other so that it is unlikely to get swindled. In any case, such cheating is rare. You can request and you will receive a receipt at the end of your trip in case you want to make a complaint.
Take taxis from the taxi stand at the terminal.

There are many taxi waiting at the holding area and are release little by little so that the 霸王车 can get business. Bear in mind that taxi are running on CNG and their boot can take 2 small luggages only.

If you want to travel altogether, then 霸王车 is likely your only option. But when bargaining, confirm they are taking the highway, you will need to pay toll.

According to Ctrip, Taxi to 广州天誉酒店 cost around rmb110. Alternatively, take the airport bus to train station then take taxi from there.

Research where you want to go and see if there is any nearby train station. GZ metro is rather convenient to get around especially during peak hours where taxi is hard to get and there will be traffic jam almost everywhere.

Alternatively, ask the hotel.

If you arrived at night, usually Jetstar and Tiger land around 1am to 2am plus. You can take cab which is around 110 to 150 RMB, but need to queue up.

Else you can take airport shuttle bus 17 RMB per person to guangzhou railway train station, then take a cab there to your hotel at beijing road there for around 25 RMB per cab :)

Door 5 or 6. Don't worry. There are clear directions. Follow the signs and/or the crowd.

In my opinion, think taking airport shuttle bus is faster. Their cab is very small, and need to wait around 20-30 minutes for cab. Rather irritating is that many people would be there to nag at you, saying that so late already no cab, then ask you take their cab lol. They quote like 250 RMB :)

Normal metered cab to beijing lu hotel area there should be around 110 - 150 RMB :)
