The Brompton O.L.D is 119mm. So I am looking at SRF5w IGH and build a good wheel.

Other IGH will require widening of the rear triangle. :s22:

Ahhh ok. Was asking because I had the impression that certain IGHs needed a certain way of wheelbuilding that wheelbuilders in SG may not be familiar with.

How Long is ur distance before it hurts? If it's 30 Km , u have not ride enough. Over 50 km no matter how often u ride , butt will hurt. So if ur frequent 50km- 100km rider , get a padded tight at big box Jurong east or many moderm bicycle also have them.

If ur distance is over 120km, with padded tight will hurts as well u will need to add baby pampers

Not necessarily true. If the poster is only wearing underwear beneath gym shorts, even short rides of 10 kms every day in humid wet weather will lead to butt sores.

My rides are between 24 to 120 kms (I've done up to 240+ in one day but those are very rare) and I always wear proper bicycle shorts. Pearl Izumis should do the trick if the rides are 60 kms or more.

Try changing your saddle? For me if I wear those padded shorts, even 100km also won't hurt. But normal underwear and shorts less than 20km start to feel sore already.

wow, the wheel ! titanium one? 7000 pounds. limited edition.

Haha no lah, not the titanium Super Climber. To tell the diff, the Super Climber looks like chrome (the boss himself polishes the titanium) and the other hub models are alu, in either anodised red or black. Will do more rides to see how they compare to other wheelsets I've owned before, then will post my thoughts here if you guys are interested. :o

Any recommended wheel builders who are knowledgeable? ;)

There's one I know but he will be away to attend wheel building course in DT swiss. He told me he will charge me more than $100 after coming back with the cert. :s13:

No idea. You could always check to see if the SRF5w IGH hub requires a unique way of wheelbuilding? If not, then, any good wheelbuilder will do.

Hmm..

I have no idea about internal gear hub.

I guess I better seek an expert help. I am thinking of using a 5 speed internal hub with a 2-sprocket derailleur system. Need to even check the splints. :s22:

Merida, like Giant makes frames for some of the atas ang moh brand of bicycle! :s13:
Both are really huge in Taiwan. And Merida owned 49% of Specialized! :D

The lightest "production bike" in the world now, iirc is a Merida Scultura 9000 Ltd Ed.
Don't get scamed by marketing lol

Lightest production if compare frame only would be the r5ca

If build that up properly would be lighter than the meridia
