Hi i wanna try also just want to know which part of pasir ris u start & the PCN is it all the way lead to changi beach or is there a break somewhere & we need to search for another PCN route, thks

Assuming Pasir Ris MRT to Changi Beach, about 7.5km, if avoid slopes mostly. Just follow Dr 3, turn left at Shell and then follow the road down to the beach.

Bike Rally this year was better than last year. Not so painful.

Was flagged off in the 2nd wave. Mostly West Coast Bunnies pulling along. For some odd reason, a lot of red lights, heng this year I decide to take it easy.

West Coast checkpoint can skip. Got some stupid cyclist faked everyone saying there is a stamp or chop. Lost some minutes.

Raffles Marina was simple. Top up water and away we go.

NTU is very jialat this year, more slopes than ever. Traffic was slight though. Some riders were smiling as they saw us as we rode out, I was laughing inside, you going to feel like dying going up slope.

Lim Chu Kang was sunny and windy. Not too bad. but got real hot shortly after Kranji Dam. Skipped Kranji checkpoint.

Again, hold back a bit at Mandai Road. Started to see all the 88km people trying hard to go up slopes. The lights in Mandai is unpredictable and tend to at bad positions.

About to hit Yishun when they wave us off to the left and it's Sembawang and all before Woodlands waterfront.

The waterpoint at Woodlands was very very good. Everyone who wanted, can pick up an entire 1.5l Aquarius. We were drinking non stop. I took a simple shower using my water bottle. Got myself all wet.

And then dried the hell up before Punggol islands. Interesting path to Yishun Dam, seems like they made some new construction.

Punggol point was the direct opposite of Woodlands. A miniscule cup for your drink. hoarding the water like it was gold.

Anyway, again up and down 2 slopes. Many walking siah. I was thinking I am 110+kg, yet I got myself up. The 2nd slope was better as you rolled down from the first.

The route cut through Punggol to Sengkang and then down Tampines Road. The parts with no curb outside the airbase was dangerous and I was reminded of the dead motorists at the infamous bends.

The route up Dr 3 gave me second wind as I went home off Loyang Point. A quick toilet, rub down of YokoYoko and 2 panadol, I was off again.

Drizzle as I come down Loyang, heavier as I passed SAF Ferry Terminal. Finally decided to stop at a public toilet to avoid rain. Rain stopped after 10mins.

Skip Changi checkpoint and pushed forward at Coastal. Entered the Park after NSRCC and have to face the weekend crowds. Many public celebrations by Indians observing Holi. Also means they anyhow walk.

At Fort rd, I was asked to turn right along with vehicles and then blend into traffic. The route through Nicoll highway is nice as you see the stadium looming ahead. As you neared the Flyer, your spirits soar. Unfortunately they didn't have good signs telling you the entrance is back at Sheares ave.

I didn't notice the running clock at the finish this year. Can't bother too.

Finished 2.50pm thereabouts.

Stayed 10mins before riding home via Kallang Bridge and then all the way along EW line.

Forced to wait 1 hour at Kallang MRT when rain came unexpectedly.

My NTU bike rally experience.

Plan: gtfo by 1+ and meet gf for lunch

Tldr: epic fail

Joined the safety car right at the front was quite dangerous cause the car was surging kept to the front for approximately 80km

Missed first rest point due to cock up by marshal and safety car the pack dropped 3/4 of riders as speed went up from 34 avg to 41 avg most of us didn't know where the checkpoint was but I guessed it was at Raffles marina

Almost missed the turn in as we were doing 40 I decided to wait for safety car while the wcr took off

Was pulling for pack all the way till NTU nearly fell off the bike but I controlled it snapped a couple of photo on the bike

Was quite uneventful til mandai where safety car went 40+ closed the gap till I got sick of it and let other people close

Bonged damn badly after gambas due yo weather and I didn't time my nutrition got dropped on Admiralty road west felt like I was heating up and vomiting giddy

Rested for about 30 mins or so at woodlands used icepacks to cooldown after that took off w 2 NTU peeps who bonged as well and persuaded then to follow me

Pulled all the way to pungol and felt good left with the evr riders and dropped them but they clawed back at ta ave 10

Felt weak along Loyang so I dropped from the pack to rest at changi beach luckily my NTU frens rested all the way

After that was uneventful luckily weather wasn't so hot . reached pit building around 2pm stayed for awhioe to find frens but they never finish so I slowly crawl my way back home a 20 min journey became a 30 mins journey

Lesson learnt : always carry two cycle computer mine died along changi beach
Get a cycle computer with timer to regulate food the display on my bryton was hard to see
Train for any event >100 k. I didn't cramp but bonging sucks

Sent from Alps X4 using GAGT
