Add another 1 -2 hrs more....u will feel the ache with normal saddle and normal shorts..

Cushy saddle tends to sink in n for ppl with 10k stiff sworks frame will negate their energy saving feature
I dont think i have seen sworks frame with fat saddle lol. saddles are very personal choice and if your preferred choice is a cheap oem fat saddle with the gel cover then have to use it.

Bro it's the more of aching than the abrasion.
hmm, i think it will have to depend on where youre seating on the saddle, some of moi cycling friends they use mtb saddle, some can use those pure carbon saddle, some use road specific saddle. for moi im usually sliding around the saddle, im quite glad i found the correct saddle on the first try.

i think it will depend on your butt- liking and type of riding, for moi i cannot use big fat cushy saddle cause at higher speeds im almost riding in a tt position, the front of my saddle normally is skinny one if use fat saddle i cannot slide foward., im currently using the fizik antares family (I have the Antares, Antares vsx and the ares (tt saddle)

I just bought a North Face dry bag for S$9. Gonna use it as a tour bag too.
Gonna add webbing to it.

Was intending to use a shoebag. Tried packing and my stuff just fit nicely.
i might go for a solo malacca trip in the near future, hopefully can do the 250k or so in under 9 hours or so, was looking at just bringing spare clothes necessary for the jounrey back to sg, probably riding a time trial bike. thinking of buying a tt bike with all the added storage options.
Where and how to wash your bike? Spray or buckets of water?

normally, i wash frame with soup outside the house, gears will distmantle and clean using degreaser inside house, when finish cleaning, just attatch everything back

I am thinking of carrying a separate 8mm Hex wrench/tool because in the past 3-4 months I have had need to use this item while riding. Twice to help out other cyclists and once to tighten my pedals.

Saddle choice are very personal, doesn't mean technically one type works for such conditions with people, it will work for everybody. Its really a trial and error thing.

Pedals are threaded in such a way that when you pedal, the rotational direction will turn the screw threading inwards, aka tightening it in. That's why pedals have left and right sides. Strange yours will need tightening, I have never heard of such cases, only encountered pedals too tight, cannot unscrew out.

I think something is wrong. Go to a bike shop to service? Like shdwfalcon mention, pedals rarely loosen one. In fact all my bicycle pedals get very hard to remove after a while.

I hardly had a chance to use my tools except for repairing flats and once when my chain broke.

To me, it was also very unusual to have to tighten my left pedal. It's a new pair that I had just installed and perhaps my Topeak was not up to the job as in not enough leverage. The pedal seems okay now.

As for service, I've had my bike for six years and not once have I had to take it in for servicing. I've done it all so far. :)

Just did a pretty short round island ride with Brompton riders@sg group.

The total distance is only about 100km, and it was about 110km for me including the return trip.

Got a surprise after completing the round island...

The rolling speed was reasonable.. flat roads rolling speed was about 26-28kmh. But there were too many breaks as we had to keep waiting for the slower riders. We were split into two pelotons as the number of participants is 50-55... :o

If 48 of us can do it using 16" wheels, why can't you?

The oldest in our peloton is a 67 year old grandfather... He even had the strength to cycle up mount faber during our break at Telok Blangah at the 85km mark.
