There's this risk most investors in Singapore need to learn about and that's counterparty risk. I work in the financial industry and over the years at the financial expos, I've seen people hawking investments in wine, rubber, gold, minerals, frogs (I kid you not!) etc.
I've never seen anyone become rich from investing in these, short of running a company dealing in these fancy schmancy stuff.
Invest in the tried and tested equities, bonds, real estate, your education, your career and you can't go too far wrong.
Mark my words, land banking gonna be next on that list beside frogs/wine/rubber..
