Hi any kind IT expert can advise me on the Asus model K401U? Is it good?

I bought it yesterday.. and i keep hearing the spinning sound.. is it normal?
I went for 1-1 exchange today and went back to try but still can hear the running sound? (I did not open any intensive application though..)

Previously I used sony vaio for 3-4 years but there werent any problem like this. I tried to search online for review but there werent much review on this model and most of the reviews were on the Asus zenbook than k series?

Can anyone help me with this? Im very bad with IT.. haha!:o

Hi, it could just be the nature design of it, it could be from the fan or the harddisk . Did you compare with the display model at the retail store?

Hi. Thanks for your reply. :) I did went down to the store and listen to the sample model it does not have the spinning sound or more like a multiple clicking sound? It was quite quiet but the strange thing is that when I tried testing there there wasnt much sound until I brought it home? Maybe during testing there was some music playing on and probably I cant hear it clearly...?

If you are still in within one week exchange grace period, quickly grab a quiet spot in the shop to figure out the existence of the sound and raise it to the salesperson.

Spinning sound comes from Fan or harddisk. Clicking sound is usually harddisk.
In shops, usually the background noise is quite loud and you can't hear clearly.

Anyway, did the spinning sound persist from the beginning when you start the laptop? If yes, then probably not too normal.

Usually when you switch on the laptop, the fan will run for a few seconds and stop. Typically the fan will kick in again after some usage and not immediately.

Try downloading "speedfan". (google for it). See if your fan rpm rotates normally. :)
