Asus K501L laptop

I have 2 issues with this laptop.

1. Battery pack B31N1429 is bloated. OK to use non-Asus compatible battery pack ?

2. Boot up black screen. Tried reset Windows but failed. Still able to access the hard disk with USB adapter. Is the hard disk dead?

I went ahead and bought a "ASUS" battery from UNICELL (Sim Lim Sq) and a Samsung 500GB SSD. Reinstalled Windows 10 without any issue.

Aftermarket modules always at your own risk. Fake 'china' batteries could possibly cause your laptop more harm than help.
