Hi,

I have an Asus laptop K551LN, which takes 10-15 mins of loading before reaching to the windows login page. I realized on certain occasions when i use the laptop, the blue screen of death appears to say that there are certain files for dumping bla bla... then the computer restarts again.

Can someone advice what is this problem?

Have you scan for virus and malware? Also check the list of programs that launch on start-up. Might also want to install Asus PC Diagnostics just to verify that there are no failing part(s).

How old is it? Maybe ram? in fact if not ram you also cannot do anything. If ram then at least still can just change it but you willing to take the risk of buying a ram to test?

See which shop gives free diagnostic testing lor else just get a new laptop if existing one is few years old already?

Most likely OS HDD having bad sectors. Download HDTune and do a normal scan.

unlikely RAM issues. If RAM not sufficient, loading up still can within 2 minutes. But to load the programs might take longer.
If 10-15 minutes to reach windows login, it is almost certain a harddisk fault.
Of course could be software fault or other hardware failure as well...

thanks all for the replies,

My laptop is 1.5 years old, and it I've did the asus diagnostic test, everything passed. Have also cleaned up virus and malware, but problem still persist :(

I've noticed that the blue screen keeps appearing and it keeps restarting my laptop.

Best to analyze the cause of the BSOD, use tool like BlueScreenView from Nirsoft to get the "Bug Check String" and google for the cause/fix.

Check if your hdd is fragmented and defrag!
Do that.

Also check your list of statup programs as well!
Will post up steps for you if you require!

Cheers
