Hi all, i have a asus laptop and it has flickering issues on my laptop.
Things i have tried is connect to a ext monitor no issues (maybe can rule out display issues) and uninstall and reinstall driver (like nothing has change but flickering become more frequent....) change refresh rates (cant change as its only have 60hz).

Here are some info X512 model i7 10 series 8gb ram intel and mx230 gpu 256gb. Bought the laptop for around 2 years.
(its like seriously 2years so fast down other brands i use the least it start to fail is around 4~5 years)

And btw does anyone knows roughly the charges for fixing the monitor? either official or unofficial (outside those in slim lim or other it stores)

Display flicker but okay on external monitor, then ain’t it obviously your laptop screen problem.

Could be as simple as loose display cable to failing display panel.

If you can identify your panel (Just use HWinfo), and are comfortable enough to replace on your own, consider buying from AliExpress directly cos it's much cheaper. Have done it for a few Thinkpads cos it's quite easy to do for business laptops. It's a bit more troublesome for consumer laptops, sometimes because they use so much glue to stick things down, or they have very breakable plastic clips that you might also need to replace the parts during the repair.

Do also check for connector type and all to confirm. Like on my Thinkpad, it's this panel, and they caution users to "Make sure new screen has same size, resolution, connector type as your old one! ":

Just make sure you disconnect the battery before anything else, or you might blow the LED components on the logic board - then you have a more complex repair. Learnt this the hard way while overseas with some laptop when I was too lazy to disconnect the battery - the moment I unplugged the display, I blew a capacitor (I think) on the logic board - had to get someone to solder something on the logic board - I think he jumpered (bypassed) the cap.

Sound like the laptop LCD panel is bad. Never like ASUS laptop, mine went to service center twice during warranty but finally dead again after the 2 years warranty.

i always tend to encounter many clients with failed asus laptops. either there were a lot of people who buy asus laptops or the failure rate is exceptionally high. if you need help with the screen, drop me a PM
