Hey guys just sharing my review on this product that I recently got hold of.
When I first saw this model, I know it must be on my desk. The frameless design and the circular stand base which stands out from the rest. The design is very stylish and built with quality materials.
The MX279 has a really thin bezel less than a centimetre at 0.8mm. This makes it outstanding together with the frameless design. If we take a closer look we can see the quality finishing on the edges of the monitor. Another good feature of MX279 is its AH-IPS with LED-backlit panel, this allows me to view it from a 178° angle wide without any reduction of quality. It could come in handy when showing off photos on the big screen or watching movies with friends.
With a 1920 X 1080 resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio screen this makes my movie experience even better. The MX279 also delivers a 5ms response time it could be used as a gaming monitor with no issues. Playing the latest games on the MX279 displays stunning visuals with little ghosting while playing high intense games.
What amazes me was how they have integrated Bang & Olufsen ICEpower® Speakers into the thin frame of MX279 with such elegance. Although its only 3W stereo speakers, the sound quality was quite crisp and clear. But it clearly lacks in delivering surround sound as there is no subwoofer to create the strong bassy sound that we are used to when watching movies.
Another good point about this monitor is that it has 2 HDMI and a VGA port for those that are using older laptops that don’t have a HDMI output. With just 2 cables connected to MX279 it allows the table to be clear of messy cables. The power adaptor is compact and small which is also easy to manage and keep it clean. If you feel like listening privately you could plug into the 3.5mm slot behind the monitor. One thing that it lacks is that most monitors comes with at least one usb port and this has none.
I’m quite impressed with MX279 it has all the winning points to make a great monitor that you will enjoy using daily at your office as well as your home. With the Full HD 1920 X 1080 resolution and 27” wide angle screen it will be the first thing anyone will notice when entering your room. The beauty and sleek features of the monitor will be alluring to anyone.
