Bought a new laptop. Specs i7-7700/24gb ram/gtx 1060.
Disk easily hit 100%. I'm highly suspecting could be asus program hinder.
Am thinking to do a clean window 10.

Guys, anyone encounter this?

Almost 1 year ago I bought ASUS x456UQ.
The disk also 100%, lag die. I panic for few days, sb stressed up don't understand why is this happening. I did a lot of things, removing bloat ware + reformatting.

In the end, I think it's because the window 10 huge package updates. Once u finished all those win10 updates, it will be back to normal. :)

Check your Disk Controller Driver.
Some screwup Disk Controller driver can cause I/O speed to drop so badly like 1-2MB becomes 100% utilization

I recently bought the same model. But ny set dont seem to come with recovery partition.

Can you check if your set comes with Asus recovery partition and what is the file size of it?

oh windows stuff hogging it?

Hmmmm. so highly likely is window 10 hogging liao lo because i been looking around. nothing intensive. probably as mentioned by TwentyOneDegrees, due to background running & dl updawtes.

But horrrrrrr.... when i'm running PUBG/DOTA, my drive I/O speed drop 99% to approx 20%
