Sometime I gotta check the whatsapp and sms messages manually. Only then I would know there are unread mags. At times, no notifications and no sounds. Strange..

Facing this exact same problem too. Notification and sound settings are all on. Got to reboot in order to receive the notifications again.

Btw I remember some bros mentioning that there are compatible Samsung usb cable which can be use to charge the padfone. Think I'm too rough ah.. and I foresee might need a new one soon. Which Samsung phone usb cable is compatible? Any recommendations??

You might want to try turning off smart saving mode.

As long as the cable is micro-usb, it is compatible with Padfone 2.

I realised that for whatsapp, I need to open the application in the background to receive notifications, do you face the same problem?

I din enable the power saving thingy lei coz it juz doesn't seem to help much on da battery usage...

I went to a Starhub authorised retailer yesterday late evening and was told that I could only apply for a NFC SIM card at the actual Starhub Shops. I did not mention that my phone is an Asus Padfone 2.

I am planning to make a trip to a Starhub Shop this afternoon/evening and make a face-to-face query. Will update again.

i have multi sim but they said only main card can have the nfc feature.

For whatsapp you need to turn it on in dynamic switching also if u used power saving modes there is an option in it that turns off background services, you need to turn that back on.

Yea all working good

Din try the NFC features though since the website din state that pf2 is currently supported

I finally received my NFC SIM card from Starhub this afternoon. Yesterday evening I did not take a queue number as there were simply too many people waiting to be served.

I have downloaded SmartWallet and EzLinkAndroid apps from Google Play and enabled NFC in my Padfone 2.

Currently, the SmartWallet app says that it is unable to communicate with my SIM card; I was told by the CSO that I might have to wait up to an hour.

On the other hand, the EzLinkAndroid app shows that I have $5.00 in my purse status. I will try to make a purchase when the SmartWallet app can recognise my SIM card. Will update again.

The CSO did not check what device I will be using with the NFC SIM card. I think it is because it is primary a normal SIM card but with the additional NFC capability. Normal phone calls and data usage are not affected so far. Plus the promotion (to waive the NFC SIM card replacement fees) will end on 31 Jan, so would be good to get it today or by tomorrow.

same for mine.
it doesn't seem that smartwallet is supported.
and i'm using JB starhub firmware..

let's hope starhub does something about it soon (given that it's already starhub exclusive, and we have to wait a few months late just to get starhub firmware updates...)
