Video player = MX Player
Music = Stick with google music
Browser = Dolphin or Chrome
pdf = Adobe reader or ezPDF
Doc viewer use polaris which is alr included

(Actually all the stock apps are able to handle that, these apps are better in my opinion)

thanks alot!

heard pple saying poweramp is good for music. i would prefer it cos it has eq settings. unless there's an add-on which enables eq for the google music? hmm. what abt those file manager/explorer programme?

The wifi is really pretty weak - even in the room just beside the router I am getting 0-1 bar compared to my Note2 which is getting full 4 bars. Also the padfone2 does not connect to my N56 router's 5ghz channel so I thot of dropping Asus support a note.

Asus response:

Please put the padfone closer to the router. Sorry for the trouble!

If the problem still remains, please try to press Setting-->Privacy -> factory data reset to restore your device to factory default.
**Backup your important data before perform factory data.

If the problem still remains, please try to setup MAC bundle on your router,
*How to find the WIFI MAC address
Path: Apps-> settings -> About tablet -> status ->Wi-Fi MAC address

Needless to say I gave them a lashing... :D

Lets hope JB will solve the issue. I noticed that from ICS to JB (on Note 1) the wifi performance is definitely much better.

Can post the steps you did to flash?

Go to Asus Padfone 2 Webpage.
Go to downloads and select Android in the drop down box.
Download the latest TW firmware.
Copy the zip file to the base directory of the internal storage.

There are 2 methods. The first method is restart your phone normally. There should be an exclamation mark in your notification. Tap on it after you pull down the notification menu and it should ask you if you want to flash the firmware.

The second method is to hold either volume up or down while you turn on your phone (make sure quick booting is disabled).
Your phone will boot into recovery mode.
Select SD update mode and use the volume buttons and the power button to navigate and find the firmware zip file. Select the zip file and the flashing procedure will begin.

I have tried all the 3 versions WWE, TW & SH. Only diff I see is WWE doesn't come with the bloatware. TW ver comes with Garmin but somehow I cant load the SG map cos I cant turn on mass storage mode... suspecting its Win8 :(

It's definitely Win8. I am running Mal-Sing maps fine on my phone. But so far, TW is the most stable among all the firmwares available. :s12:

Ever since I moved to Google Music, all the other players kick to the curb. It just fits my usage pattern so much better. Love it to bits.... :D

ah. ok. my files are mostly .flac and .mp3 so i guess the google player does fine. just that the eq abit limited since its only ard 5 or 6 bands compared to poweramp's. oh well, i guess i will fiddle ard and see which i prefer. haha. u using poweramp pro? the trial will expire or can just use as free ver?

hello yappy, i just swtiched my s3 to pf2. So far no issue with gps and wifi on the other hand i find the connection is much better than S3. Switched to pf2with no regrets... it so much faster in performance, and it beats S3 in all aspect. PF2 is AWESOME....

after few days of usage, noticed the phone gets extremely hot. but the phone is still working fine. is that normal? normally if phones get too hot over their threshold they generally shut down right?
