hello yappy, i just swtiched my s3 to pf2. So far no issue with gps and wifi on the other hand i find the connection is much better than S3. Switched to pf2with no regrets... it so much faster in performance, and it beats S3 in all aspect. PF2 is AWESOME....

It says that audio wizard is not available with wired or bluetooth headset.
So it does not work as they say.

after few days of usage, noticed the phone gets extremely hot. but the phone is still working fine. is that normal? normally if phones get too hot over their threshold they generally shut down right?

Seconded, mine gets hot from just internet browsing, quite uncomfortable :[ anyone with same issue?

Its common. 32gb is the capacity, after minus off the OS, preloaded apps and everything will be ard 25gb only.

Seconded, mine gets hot from just internet browsing, quite uncomfortable :[ anyone with same issue?

Didn't try surfing much but watching HD vid on youtube does get quite warm. Esp the border and sides where the vol button etc are. Basically the metal part. Guess no chance ba. I tried playing o2jam with the hp docked.. That's when its even hotter lol.

Actually this is an advertising gimmick for all hdd and ssd and storage.
32GB when u convert to the actual bytes in computer terms, 1GB = 1024MB.

So actually 32GB without any installation is supposed to be 30.51757GB.

the math is (32 000 000 / 1024 ) / 1024.

Similarly, a new 500gb harddisk when you first open it, it only shows 476.837GB.
You can do the same calculations.


So with 30.51757GB the remaining are partitioned as shown in the quote above.

Don't know why Asus allocate this way, which is quite wasteful compared to how samsung did theirs.

about 5GB is used for the system partitions, cache, dev etc..

Don forget that the phone is charging at the same time when u docked it

So charging + playing game ( CPU @ max frequency) will make the phone at its peak temperature..

But don worry about it. Asus wun let the CPU melt inside your phone

Try using google navigation or gps essential app to lock.

See how long you take to lock... sometimes may not even lock
Some user reported that docking it in the pad station takes forever to lock

Hi, i've just bought a Padfone 2 today. Was very happy with my purchase until i realised that i'm having this problem, when my phone rings, my caller can't hear me, but i can hear them loud and clear. But when i use my bluetooth or earpiece, my caller can hear me loud and clear.
Does this mean the handset itself have problem?
If yes, where do i change? From the place that i bought?

Another problem is, the wallpaper changes by itself! Again, does this point to the handset problem?

Hi micshang,
I got a mine last week, so far so good, didn't have the problem you are facing. You can always try to perform a factory reset and monitor the set before had a one to one exchange. Hope this hep.

Go to Asus Padfone 2 Webpage.
Go to downloads and select Android in the drop down box.
Download the latest TW firmware.
Copy the zip file to the base directory of the internal storage.

There are 2 methods. The first method is restart your phone normally. There should be an exclamation mark in your notification. Tap on it after you pull down the notification menu and it should ask you if you want to flash the firmware.

The second method is to hold either volume up or down while you turn on your phone (make sure quick booting is disabled).
Your phone will boot into recovery mode.
Select SD update mode and use the volume buttons and the power button to navigate and find the firmware zip file. Select the zip file and the flashing procedure will begin.

Anything other setting that need to be turn on/off? I tried with mine, the 1st method didn't work (no exclamation mark) so I proceed to the second method and it failed!! End up I need to reset my padfone 2 to factory default not sure what I miss out....

I learnt it the hard way too.
Need to flash the lower firmware first. I think is. 41.

After that when you load the. 55 firmware to the root of the sd card, the exclamation mark will appear. Cos 55 is an upgrade firmware. Not a fresh copy

do we need to register with starhub for the sales consultant to call us as mention in starhub web before getting padfone 2, or we can just get down to eg. Plaza Sing to renew the contract to get the padfone 2 itself?
