can try ASUS authorized retailers or starhub.

anyway for those who mentioned about the wifi issue... try turning off the smart battery mode thingy. it boosted my wifi signal immediately. also check the channel whether is 5ghz or 2.4ghz and change to fit ur router. auto doesn't seem to be working well. (for me at least)

anyone has any idea for any nice case or protection for the phone? it feels dangerous to leave it naked inside my pocket.

padfone2 on 4g is quite amazing. i got 19906kbps download and 4533kbps upload on m1. but battery life is like free flow.

Hi guys, got some questions

I have a full charge before leaving office at 8pm surf close to 3 hours at home on the fone, battery left 60% is this acceptable. But it seems that fone drains very fast have to constanly check what apps is running in the background.

The fone is suppose to be thumbprint free ?? does anyone have fingerprint marks after a one day use.

Also the wallpaper on the tablet can be change ??

Surf 3hrs drop 40% sounds reasonable for any smartphone.

Nothing is thumbprint free, otherwise they would just start using that material to coat murder weapons. :D

40% drain for 3 hours surfing is very good imo.

http://blog.gsmarena.com/lg-optimus-g-battery-tests-are-done-here-are-the-results/

You can compare it here.. But do take note of screen brightness difference.
The optimus-g has similar specs to the padfone2, even the battery capacity

And i believe there is no such thing as thumbprint free. It is just less obvious than other phones.

Wao... Thats EXPENSIVE :(:(:(.... Can buy the cable only?? So i can buy USB charger that outputs 2A.. :):):)

Yes, you can buy cable only..
Can go sim lim /funan or any challenger shop..
Edit: Actually any handphone shop should also sell it but their price is @!#!@%$

I think you can find both there.

As for the cable, there are 2 types.
1) Charging only. When you plug to your phone, they will not recognize as a media device, cannot transfer file.. But it charges very fast even if you charge using a laptop/PC

2) Data + charge. This is the usual cable that is supplied with phones.. Can transfer data but the downside is the charging is very slow.

I recommend to get both. Each cable should be about $10 or less

Edit: Look at this http://forums.vr-zone.com/samsung-lg/2593768-micro-usb-cable-data-sync-pc-charging-black-color.html

I learnt it the hard way too.
Need to flash the lower firmware first. I think is. 41.

After that when you load the. 55 firmware to the root of the sd card, the exclamation mark will appear. Cos 55 is an upgrade firmware. Not a fresh copy

Mind to share how to flash the lower firmware? Is it boot the device to the recovery mode and select the zip file? Thank you.

Yes, thats the only way i think.
I think the exclamation mark method only works if the firmware is an upgrade version for the current firmware you are on.

For the lower firmware, don need to unzip it.
Just flash directly.

As for the upgrade firmware (.55), just unzip it once, and copy that "Asus" folder into the root of your internal memory

The exclamation mark will appear immediately once you disconnect the USB cable.

You can share your thoughts on the TW firmware..

for me, the wifi is better. And it is more stable.

I had a reboot once on the starhub firmware after i took out the fone from the station

I still have 2 pieces of samsung micro USB to HDMI adapter (MHL) for sale.

Brand new and sealed.

Special price for padfone2 owners :$25 each.
(Cos I just switched over to padfone2 from galaxy note 1)

Market link: http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/marketplace/view/219498
and in Vr-forum

I tried on the padfone 2 already, it works just fine.

Output quality is actually better than the galaxy note.

Awesome for watching videos.

If you have rooted your phone, you can even play games using the PS3 controller.. (Sixis controller app)

I don't have fb issues so can't help you.

As for whatsapp,
Go settings then Asus customized settings and tick whatsapp under dynamic display switch list. Problem solved

It's a bit of trial and error on what to tick for optimized outcome.
For e.g. I tried ticking nova launcher and the launcher interface will messed up if I go pad station. Better to let it reset for this case
