I already updated the firmware a little while ago. There is a new update for the camera firmware, didn't really have time to play with it now so I'll post back if I've any findings

yahoo mail cannot set push using the default email app,
it can only be done through the yahoo mail app.

For gmail, the server is m.google.com

hey guys. was in bangkok and happened to passby a shop in MBK that does "Gmask" service. but they only provide clear film. was quote 600 bhat (24sgd)only for the back of the tablet. already had my sp also in MBK 300 (12sgd)bhat. they cutted out the shape and got it stick for me.

was looking them applying the film. was shock to see that they use lighter instead of hair dryer. and used razor blades to cut the remaining film. dam zai. its so nicely sticked and its flawless. gmask should learn from them.

So far Gmail, Hotmail and Microsoft Exchange emails support it by using the default email app.

You have to use manual setup>select Exchange

gmail server --> m.google.com
hotmail server --> m.hotmail.com
Exchange server --> add a exchange in front of the mail.
for example, nus.edu.sg will be exchange.nus.edu.sg

Den you will have an option to select push.

You don have an option now probably because it was setup with POP3

Dunno when their exclusive contract with Asus will end.

But the padfone1 was totally exclusive to Starhub. No other telcos have it.

So if this continues, then yes, padfone2 will be exclusive to starhub only and singtel is not getting it.

An alternative solution is to buy iphone5 from singtel, sell it and buy padfone2 without contract

I dropped my padfone and there's a gap between the side metal peice and the phone now, so i guess it'll be a good idea to have a case for it.

thought of that too. but have to pump in at least $200 to get the padfone2. sell ip5 for 900, need another 200 to get the padfone2 32gb one. sigh

I encounter some problem on my padfone 2 after using for almost a month.

1) Facebook - After viewing a photo on facebook, I click "return" button on the phone. By right it should show me facebook page to where I last read (it works this way on S3). Instead, it shows me a black screen. I have to exit from facebook and re-open facebook and I was brought back to the top of the page again which i have read.

2) whatsapp/sms - This happens intermittent. While typing a msg, suddenly the cursor key goes to the start or somewhere in the msg. If I ignore and continue typing, the letters that I have entered is not shown so I don't know what I am typing until i send the msg. I have to restart the phone then it will be normal again. Another issue, when a message comes it, sometimes it will alert sometimes it will not.

3) Sometimes the phone hang. I have to wait for 2-3 minutes before I can use again.

4) The taskbar where you can select wi-fi, mobile data, etc at the top of the screen - This also happens intermittent. Usually I drag down trying to click on the notifications or click on wi-fi or vibrate. After selecting the wifi or vibrate, I cannot drag up to close the taskbar. I have to click on the "return" button on the phone.

5) Wi-fi signal strength is not good. Sitting within 2 metre to the router, the phone can only detect a 2 bar of signal. Sometimes better, can get 3 bar. My laptop and S3 can detect a full bar at the same time and distance.

6) Some cosmetic issues but I can live with those.

The phone has good battery life. I whatsapp, sms, facebook, sometimes play games and some other apps, can last me 2 days till i reach home at night and left with 10-20% of battery.
The idea of combining the phone and tablet is good.
The camera is not too good. This has a 12MP but the quality is not better than S3's 8MP when comparing the photos on the laptop.
I will continue to use the phone and see whether there is anymore problems.

i experience 2, 4 and 5. 2 is just the msg coming in part, not so much the typing issue.

A bit sianz. considering this is a new phone.
