no.. but who cares about the singapore version when it is loaded with starhub crap.

Just flash the TW firmware.. it is the most stable and has frequent and fastest updates

First, do this before you load in ur stuff as it will factory reset your phone.
If you have already loaded apps, use the Asus backup app to backup the apps and transfer to your PC.
The factory reset will wipe all data on the internal storage as well.

1) download the tw firmware from here: ASUS - Mobile- ASUS PadFone 2

get the latest one, which is 10.4.7.10

2) then unzip and go into the folders till you hit TW_A68-10.4.7.10-0-ota-user.zip

3) Then transfer this zip to your internal storage.

4) Now you need to reboot into recovery. Ensure fast bootup is NOT enabled and turn off your phone ( by default it is not enabled )

To enter recover: press the power button + volume down together

then select 1. Enter recovery mode.

5) In recovery, select 'apply update from external storage'
search for the zip file that you just copied and flash it.

6) when it is done, select wipe data/factory reset
select reboot system-> DONE!

Any starhub stores should have them on display. The answer depend on your usage. Do you currently own a tablet? If no, do you need one? How dependent will it be? (critical for school or work?) By any chance will you need to use both the phone and tablet together? (like taking a call while going through emails or office?)

For my case I use the tablet for causal purpose, like reading ebooks or watching some drama/anime while lying on bed/traveling so it's fine. One thing you will have to know though, PadFone 2 aren't 2 devices. It's more of a 1+ device where you have a full-fledged phone and a tablet accessory.
If say, touch wood your phone have to be send for repair. During that period of time you wouldn't be able to use the tablet station as well, can you live with it? If your answer is yes, then I'll recommend you to go ahead and grab it as well. Just don't expect too much from the station itself though

The station itself is very worth it even though it is simply a screen with a 5000mah battery and a front camera. It also has a volume rocker.

I find personally find it useful as a daily tool/source of battery as I need to charge less frequently The station's big battery will be used when I slip in the phone. There are different intelligent settings how you want to use both your batteries. Just charge up both the components overnight and it lasts me 2-3 days of integrated usage.

For all its worth its price is comparable to a iphone 5 or a S3? It s a no brainer I think. Its very responsive and a bigger screen then the Iphone. Also when the station and pad is combined its lighter then a ipad 4?

The best part for me is to have a pad with 3G function w/o paying for a data plan.

Also this gadget will give you a lot of attention - so it may be a good or bad thing.

I will highly recommend the station.

How do you actually retain the Asus intelligent battery app and task manager if u wipe out the OS? I cannot seem to find it online.

You are not wiping the OS, the factory reset will only wipe the /data partition.

All the system apps and Asus apps like the battery app and task manager is in the /system partition.

If you open the zip file using your PC or even any zip apps, you can navigate in the /system/app partition and see the apk for those

Nope, you don need root to flash original firmwares..

Initially i used Note2. Padfone2 GPs lock looks very slow compare to note2..

Any idea how to improve GPs. And how to load Gramin Gps' in SG padfone2..

When you backup/sync your iphone4 with itunes, there is a part where you can select to sync with google account or google contacts..

Do that.

After that on the padfone or any android device for the matter, just go to settings > account & sync > google/gmail account > sync contacts..

Easy as 1,2,3.

As for Email, you can just set up the email account and it will pull directly from the server.
Recommended to set up as push mail to save battery. ( exchange)

For hotmail, gmail, microsoft exchange emails you can set it up to receive as push mail.

Yahoo cannot unless you subscribe to the premium service.
