Latest WWE firmware available for download, version no: V10.4.15.1

Didn't mention what's the update fix but after reading forum from TW, most of the user found that the battery can last longer and more smooth.

Please be informed that some user in TW after upgrade to the latest firmware the device "die"!!!! (mainly those that haven't change the MB)

will do a backup before flashing the latest firmware.. dont want to risk losing my data!

Hi guys, just gt my padfone and am loving it. However i got a small problem.. during voice call.. the caller voice is very loud and it sound like the speaker(the part we place our ear) is gonna spoil soon.. very sharp and high pitch... not sure if this is normal or nt.. any of you experience the same? Lowering the volume will only reduce the crackinghigh pitch..

Don't think that's normal... sounds like you might need to bring it up to the service centre...

My friend's seem to be the same as well.

Yeah, heard that too. But other than the garmin app, i dont think its any different from WWE firmware ?

Anyway is there really a big difference with difference FW? using starhub one now and it seems fast enough for me... or maybe my previous phone is too slow

Well, depending on the firmware there is few or minor differences. I believed the TW one has garmin, RU has extra LTE band, etc. Plus starhub firmware are slow on updates i guess. Flashing official firmware is not considered rooting.

What i did to flash it is :
- Download the file from asus website
- Unzip the file and you get Asus > Update > *whichever firmware version you downloaded*.zip
- Factory reset/wipe your phone
- Transfer the .zip file you just extracted earlier to your phone main directory
- Go to recovery mode (switch off, hold volume down and power together, select enter recovery mode)
- Choose the option update from external SD (or internal SD. Kinda forget. Haha)
- Select the file you have extracted
- Wait for the process to finish
- Factory reset/wipe once more and you are done

Side note : If you wish to back up your apps, you may use asus backup app to do the back up before factory reset/wipe the phone and transfer that backup file to your computer and transfer it back to your phone after the whole process. Same goes for your music, pictures, doc, etc (this have to manually copy/paste to your computer unless you use some 3rd party app to sync or something).

Thanks to darkvice, the cailbration tool solves the issue. Actually this is not just scrolling issue but a touch sensitivity issue that affects all touch operations.

For those who face this issue, do note that the download file on asus website is an rar file, at first I could not download it on the phone, end up I had to download it on a pc, unrar it and then transfer the apk file to the phone. Then run it.

Mine had the scrolling inconsistency and touch sensitivity prob. Thanks to this tip, it seems the problem has been solved. Yeay ! Btw, i believed es file explorer/manager can open .rar and .zip folder if im not mistaken

Thanks man for the tip. I have always wiped the phone first before flashing ever since my first android device just as a precaution. Lol ! But yes, you do not need to wipe the phone if you do not want to. Cheers

Cos from the way you put it, it sounds like a must to factory reset,
which may prevent some people from trying it.


So i present factory reset as an option only when something goes wrong or if you want to start clean

For app and app data, you can use ASUS app backup. For pics, music, doc, etc, i manually copy/paste them over to my computer. Haha ! You could try the ASUS Sync/ ASUS PC Suite although i read somewhere its does not sync everything. Maybe the senior members here would like to share more on backup
