hi anybody updated to the latest taiwan firmware and having problems with 4g connection?my phone can detect 4g signal but is unable to transmit or receive any data...

I also encountered this in WWE latest firmware. Not frequent though. I just switch to 2G for a while then back to 4G and it is ok.

I also tried the latest WWE fw and encountered the issue of data become inactive when phone goes to sleep. However, my setting are set such that if on wifi, it stays on when sleep. But my network refuse to stay awake. Even if im on 3G/4G, i would not receive any data network when my phone goes to sleep. Revert back to starhub fw still same issue. Guess its Starhub network issue perhaps

hmmm, so glad to know that i am not the only one facing this problem haha..guess its firmware issue? changing to 2g and back doesnt seem to work for me unfortunately...

Thanks for the reply. Err, i switched off my power saving. Maybe i should turn it on and see if it helps. Hahaha

Another thing I noticed is some apps require it to be activated once before you can continually receive updates/notifications. However, apps might be killed when you dock/undock your phone, rendering it unable to receive notifications.

You can double check under settings -> ASUS customized setting -> dynamic display switch list.
and make sure that it's enabled for those apps (ticked).

Do note that a few incompatible apps still gets killed while docking/undocking...
To ensure it working, you will have to enter those apps once after docking/undocking...

Ya tts what i tho... change a few andriod phone and dun remb google play rembing my apps.

When first you on your phone from factory setting, registering your google account will prompt you whether you want google to keep track of your apps.

It will basically keep track of which apps you kept installed in your previous device.

I'm not sure where to enable it afterwards though...

oh yea, forgot about this.
By default, if you never tick it, the app gets killed everytime you dock/undock. ( technically its the app's service that got killed, it is the background service that is pushing notification)

So just tick apps that you want to keep 'alive'.
for info, DONT tick keyboard apps.

you will want to kill them everytime you dock/undock cos they will switch the layout between tablet & phone

Hi, could i ask lets say i get a padfone 2 from starhub. possibility to get one of the "problem" some of you encountered before?

Or the newer batch of padfone 2 has already upgrade its firmware to latest and fixed the problem already?

Im considering this phone but afraid i may get one of the faulty set?

by right the new sets shouldn't come with the faulty motherboards...
To be safe, you should check whether it comes with the latest firmware from asus website.

If you bought it from starhub, it will be loaded with starhub firmware. Latest should be 10.4.12.24-0

So i called the technical hotline for our phone and it seems the person do not even know there are different variations of firmwares. He says i should go to starhub website to update to the latest firmware and not asus website. Had enough of his nonsense and hanged up the phone. Anyone encounter the problem of your data/wifi being inactive when the phone screen is off or in sleep ? Im pretty sure i have the setting right to stop that from happening. The late push notifications of emails, im, fb, twitter, etc is pissing me off. Heading down to the service centre tomorrow

Better check if you get from exclusive partner, whether you're entitled to the promotion. I bought mine at one of their exclusive partner shop and was not given all the free goodies

Jus back from Asus Service centre this morning.

My padfone die on me yesterday it suddenly hanged and when do restart.. it struck at logo screen...after a few try... the phone cannot start at all...

At service centre... they ask me to acknowledge that all data will be lost... Cos the memory is embedded on the MB...

1st - they make me feel that its mine fault for not backing up my data.

2nd - I find that their design sucks big time like Iphone... how are we to expect that the phone will totally die off... Asus shld have design the phone like the rest of Android phone.. comes with mircoSD slot for our data...

damn stupid design dun the rest think so too?

Hahaha... My phone died on me 2x and both occasions data was not backed up... Went down for servicing 3 times in less than 3 months... How wonderful is that?

Before you see the release of 4.2 firmware for PadFone infinity... I think you can forget of hoping it'll be out on PadFone 2...
