its July already and Eplanet is still selling the 290 Ref at $428.

Lets hope it stays at this price

I wonder why so many people trying to sell off their SECOND HAND 280x at $3xx, when a brand new 290 with full warranty is only less than $100 more somemore eplanet has the DBS promo and free delivery, making it even cheaper than $428.

He can only blame his wallet for making a poor decision once the card starts to throttle due to inadequate cooling.

anyway, been using the card for the past few days. not really intensive gaming yet, but did have the card temps pushed to the 90s degrees zone.

could be me or what, the noise level dun seems that loud as many claims to be. maybe cos with speakers blasting away, dun feel the scream, if any, of the stock hsf. most prob would monitor and change the thermal paste if need to.

secondly on the throttle issue, maybe the games i've played, dun really experience much bah. or is so minimal that i dun feel it.

now, next on my shopping list is a SSD and a gaming peripherals sets. my rojak combo of logitech, razer seems to be giving way soon. the mouse have not been really responsive..

auto in catalyst.. is only in games, such as L4D2, etc.. some older games, it's in the 70s range. only played a mission or 2 to try the new card. haha.

movies wise, is cooling at the 40s lor..

i go google about the product and happen to see ppl commenting vrm will get too hot.

Trust me bro. You don't wanna use ref cards. I learnt this the hard way
