Any difference if I purchase the G75VX on any challenger store or this coming PCShow 2013? More freebies on PCShow?

I don't think the G750JX will be out that soon either. Need a laptop by July!

I checked out the Lenovo Y500, and impressed by the dual GPU. But I am worried that it might be quite heated after long hours of gaming or usage, as compared to G75VX.

Any Lenovo Y500 users can feedback?

There are reviews on Y500 out there in the wild. Personally, the G75 have the best cooling system, but at the expense of weight and size.

Also, Aftershock showroom shld have samples of theit laptops.

If your concern is weight, I think you shld not be looking at 17 inch models man. This G75 is prob one of the heavier laptop for its class.

I chanced upon this Samsung Series 7 Gamer 700G7C. Comparing it with Asus G75VX, which is better? It offers GTX 675M whereas G75VX offers GTX670MX. Also the thermal heat produced.

Any advice bros?

The Samsung has a good screen, a good speaker system and a blu-ray drive. It's not bad, but it's a Samsung...

Best to take a look at the unit for yourself.

Have you bought a laptop already? Shops are taking pre-orders now for Asus G750. Estimated availabiity is on end of June or 1st week of July.

The only drawback here is the HDD which is just 5400rpm. That's why im planning to add SSD when i get the laptop.

Im not so sure about the warranty. I also have to check it with the shop when I get the laptop.

In my own opinion, better to install the ssd as the boot drive while new. In this case there will be lesser data to back-up or clone from the HDD it came with. I am also still researching which is the best cloning software for this. There are many free cloning tools from the internet. Please note that there is also something they called partition alignment for ssd. You have to make sure its aligned to get the best out of your ssd.

I doubt adding a hard drive will void the warranty in this case.

If you can, do a fresh OS install on your SSD at the start, to reduce the need for you to backup. Fresh install as Asus will preinstall some useless apps if my memory did not fail me, and best practice when changing from mechanical drive to SSD.

In the essence of time, cloning will be the faster method. Did not really do a compare between the 2, so can't really comment on much dif on an SSD.

I personally prefer not to clone as this means copying all the useless softwares over to new drive. Also, sometimes the drivers can be pretty obsolete on the factory default installation.
