I'm asking on behalf on a friend.
He's using 1gbps fibre internet from starhub. He bought a rt-n15u to place in his room while the main starhub router is in the living room. The starhub router is the black cyclinder shaped type.(D Link i think)
He wants to extend the range so his devices in the room can use the wired internet. The Rj45 from living room - bedroom is already done.
I helped him connect the rj45 to the WAN port of the Asus. Wired and wifi worked fine. But he's calling me and telling me it sometimes disconnects and it shows 'unidentified network' on his PC.(wired)
I tried using the AP mode on the Asus. But can't connect to his Asus SSID.
I disabled DHCP. But when I disable, unable to connect to Asus SSID.
TLDR;
He wants the Asus in the room to act as a secondary router with wired and wifi capabilities(with his own SSID) without disconnections. Maybe there's some IP address I need to put in?
Starhub router 192.168.0.1
Asus router 192.168.1.1
Please help. Thanks
