Anyone has any idea on how much Asus Prime will cost locally?

Most 32gb tablet(wifi only) cost around USD599 or SGD 798.
The Asus Prime is 32gb but the announced price is USD499, which is expected to be around 668?

But will it end up in the similar price range of the 32gb tablets?

Don't know man, anything that comes into Singapore will end up expensive even thought it is cheap overseas...

we are such suckers....

IF I pre-order from Amazon @USD499, + shipping using Vpost the total adds up to around SGD750 which might be cheaper if they really peg Prim to the price of the 32gb tablets....

Or anyone knows a reputable site with international shipping ?

Pre-ordering now means getting the device much earlier then it will be release in SG, but if the local price is really USD499 or 668 that means forking out an additional 70 bucks for it to get it early? doesn't sound too bad

but of course there's the issue of warranty, etc...

get rdy to expect a price tag of at least SGD$800++ 32GB without dock.
they like to jack up the price so high and may encourage ppl to get ipad after much thinking. :(
n i don think will have international warranty same as the TF01.
Just my 2 cents.

After rough calculation estimate a $750 inclusive of GST and Shipping Cost.
I realize all Singapore Asus tablet lisited in Sitex is all international warantty which is same in U.S. Why not just get from U.S. during pre-order will i miss out something?

Yes, just like TFT,USA version claim by sg Asus said that it is only for local warranty. That why cheap. Power supply will not be usable too.

Technically, the main difference is the charging cable connected directly to power outlet, Since we have different socket type, voltage and frequency?
if i use a converter, it should be ok? or maybe charge thru USB?

BTW I just check Amazon last night, the listing for pre-order prime is no longer available...probably out of stock...

I will just buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 plus if it is so expensive.
Galaxy 7.7 is not a tergra 3 device...and ICS is not on it.
10" device is good for games & web surfing...

smaller size is for quickie

Based on TFT, the power supply is universal voltage which is usable in Singapore. Only difference is the pins which are 2 flat pins; just get a $3 adapter can solve already.

I dont know about you but for me, I dont need 3G version, I can just easily wifi hotspot to my android phone and surf net. Unless you got a Data Sim Card if not, I really dont see any convenience answering a call from your tablet.

First of all, a 3G tablet is not used to answer calls :s13:

Secondly, different folks different strokes. I prefer to have a 3G tablet so that 1) I don't have to fiddle with my phone / MIFI when I want to surf on my tablet. 2) I don't have to deplete the batt on my phone. 3) I don't want to carry another portable battery or the likes to charge my phone / MIFI when it runs flat.
