used wifi analyzer on my galaxy s2 n prime. no issue at all both coverage is same in my room.

only difference is S2 is able to detect more wifi signals which are all at very low to low signals while prime does not show them or detect them at all. Its a very small issue to me as teh ones not detected by prime are wifi with very weak or low signals.

GPS - Fail. My IP4 can get the coordinates within 10 seconds, Prime fails to pick up any. Tested beside my window, HDB. But then this issue was expected, neither would I use GPS on the tablet.

Wifi - Acceptable. With direct line of sight, approx 5m still can get 95% of bandwidth compared to IP4. However, once I walked out to the living room (no line of sight, approx 10m away), speed drastically drops (from ~30mbps down to ~0.6mbps). Signal drops at that range. For comparison, at the same location, IP4 drops slightly from ~30mbps to ~6mbps. No drop of signal.

ICS - Uneventful upgrade, smooth and fast. No flickering or issues associated with upgrading as compared to what was reported over at XDA Forums. Perhaps the reason being that our region is using the TW (Taiwan) build of Android core.


Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase. I walked in knowing the flaws of the device, so yea

So far with the uneventful OTA, ICS update in SG (did mine on the stroke of midnight, 12 Jan), the TF Prime has been smooth as silk. There's also a camera firmware update after ICS. This is the first tablet that users cannot power on before charging. Minor hassle but it surprised me...

Under Settings>Developer, i turned off all animations. Compared to my previous SS Tab 10.1 and now Note, preliminary feel is that the Prime is quite a joy and pleasure to hold and use. Snappy, slick, sharp and premium comes to mind.
