A slim and light tablet operating on the Windows 8 Pro OS, the VivoTab sports an 11.6-inch multi-touch HD display with built-in Super IPS+ technology that gives a 1366 x 768 HD resolution. With an 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z2760 dual-core processor to run the latest software and legacy applications smoothly, ASUS TruVivid technology further enhances image clarity by reducing display thickness, while its scratch-resistant Corning Fit glass with anti-fingerprint coating keeps the screen crystal clear.

ASUS has also collaborated with Wacom to create the touch layer of the ASUS VivoTab HD screen. Supporting up to 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity, the Wacom Digitizer Stylus mimics the actual "pen on paper" experience that users are familiar with. The precise pen point accuracy improves user experience in drawing, sketching and note taking on the ASUS VivoTab.

When connected to the mobile keyboard dock that comes with a streamlined “hidden hinge” design, the VivoTab is instantly transformed into a notebook, complete with a fully functional ZENBOOK-inspired keyboard, large multi-touch touchpad and two USB 2.0 ports. Also, the built-in battery in the mobile dock extends ASUS VivoTab’s 10.5-hour battery life by up to 9 hours, to an incredible 19 hours of mobile usage on the tablet.

Measuring a mere 8.7mm thin and 675g light, the VivoTab features quad speakers with ASUS SonicMaster technology, and an 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus five-element lens and large f/2.2 aperture that delivers the best-in-class image capture.

Available in Amethyst Gray at S$1,399 from 5 April, ASUS VivoTab comes with a leather casing, Wacom Digitizer Stylus and mobile keyboard dock.

The samsung price comes with dock? If if does then $250 extra for the battery in the dock is a bit much. See street price first.

I was waiting for this model. Now that with this price level, I am forced to turn my attention to Acer W700 or pay a couple of hundred dollars more to get Samsung Smart PC Pro.
Generally I find it extremely difficult to pay more than one grand for any Atom processor-powered device.
This is ludicrous price point for Atom !

So far in the current market, Samsung Smart PC Pro is still favourable but expensive. 4GB memory, 128GB Solid state Drive.
