Asus ROG GT-BN98 Pro Wireless Backhaul Test with two ROG GT-BN98 Pro units.

ASUS GT-BN98 Pro: Can Wireless Backhaul Actually Hit 5 Gbps?

In this video, I test the wireless backhaul performance of the ASUS ROG GT-BN98 Pro router. After running an initial Wi-Fi benchmark on the wireless node, I connect directly via 10G Ethernet to eliminate client-side bottlenecks and push the backhaul link to its absolute limit. We wrap up with local speed benchmarks and a real-world 37 GB game download test to see if next-gen wireless mesh can truly deliver sustained 5 Gbps throughput.

Very detailed review of Asus ROG GT-BN98 in German/English.

1. Wi-Fi 8 speed is pretty fast using a second ROG GT-BN98 as the Wi-Fi 8 client (4*4 Wi-Fi 8)

2.4GHz BN: 4x4 (Tx/Rx) 4096 QAM 20/40MHz, up to 1376Mbps
5GHz-1 BN: 4x4 (Tx/Rx) 4096 QAM 20/40/80/160MHz, up to 5764Mbps
5GHz-2 BN: 4x4 (Tx/Rx) 4096 QAM 20/40/80/160MHz, up to 5764Mbps
6GHz BN: 4x4 (Tx/Rx) 4096 QAM 20/40/80/160/320MHz, up to 11529Mbps

2. MLO (5GHz-2 + 6GHz) speed is very good between two ROG GT-BN98 units. The reviewer thinks that STR MLO is working in this configuration.

3. NAS performance is decent, Wireguard VPN performance is not good but may be improved later.

4. Power consumption can be very high at 44.4W for full load conditions and 25.3 for idle condition.

Nowadays everything also in the thousands, from phones/tablets/routers/PC parts etc.
Prices are getting absolutely ridiculous and unaffordable. Not about whether one can pay but is it worth this much even?!
