Hi..

Asus currently running a roadshow for UX390 in Suntec. They are tying with Newstead to gather pre-launched orders. The only colour launched for this model in SG is royal blue. Today is the last day of the roadshow.

Has anyone bought from Newstead before? Saw some negative reviews. Wondering if I should proceed buying today or wait till it is available to other authorized dealers. Newstead is offering $200 off the retail price only in this roadshow.

Pls advise. Thanks!

Hmm, is there any particular concerns over the particular authorised dealer?

Warranty would be covered by Asus Sg themselves, so should you have any issues with the unit, it would be direct to Asus's service center.

I was there early this afternoon.

Really badly wanted to buy this baby as I have been waiting for so long ...

But I found that:

1. The body is a fingerprint magnet!

2. Only Royal Blue is available at this moment

3. Speaker cracked when the volume is turned up

4. Read some negative feedback on throttling, heat, fan issue etc.

Nonetheless it is very light and portable (just like my Vaio Pro 11)

In the end I decided to wait for Zenbook 4 :s13:

Didn't know there is a roadshow. What are the specs?

I read that the lowest end i5 model (4gb ram, 128 gb sdd) sells around USD 1000.

XPS 13 is much much much more heavier ...

=:p

Look closer there's quite a few trade off, with only 40whr battery I bet the battery life sucks and hefty $1998 starting price, they sure included that free MS office and voucher into the price, I believe most people already had a copy of MS office. Wait a few months after the launch and the price should drop at least by $200 at all stores if you are not in hurry for this :D

With only 300g difference,
I get
Killer WiFi over crap Intel
60whr battery
Precision trackpad
Ports
Bigger screen
Better keyboard travel
Infinity display
Way better after sale support

Asus should have up the resolution and give it a touch screen to compete with new macbook.
Furthermore with Apple announcing their new macbook lineup, Zenbook 3 will be diminished :)

For business executives like us we value portability over functionalities :D

You mentioned 300g heavier which also equate to 33.3% heavier by comparison
