So 9 less heat?
Every phone heats up during initial setup. You are downloading all the apps, syncing data and basically molesting the new phone features. Of course it's going to heat up. Furthermore, it's a compact phone, less surface area = less area for heat move away from SoC.

Can't really remember but I think heat during setup is normal. Today seems pretty cool but comparing to the S23U, it's not as fluid smooth. Processing seems snappier on the S23U despite both being equipped with the SD8Gen2

Yes, I think the smaller size aka lesser surface area will dissipate heat away slower as compared to a larger phone.

What I like though is the twin app feature on the Zenfone 10, more apps are supported like Insta, youtube, whatsapp business, fb messenger.

Yes that was my concern too and hesitated for awhile but went ahead with it since I had good experience with the Zenfone 9 and Mobile Hardware has good aftermarket support for export sets for me.

Usually I don't use devices all that long so hopefully all is well before I offload it for something else 😊

Yeah, should be arriving Oct 23?yeah Zenfone as a whole not as polished in terms of hardware and software optimisation.

Main attraction for me was the compactness of the phone with flagship specs and the good battery life. Good as work phone.

I don't feel the 10 is much better than the 9, instead, it feels very similiar. Battery life seems to have improved slightly though

For me the OS updates doesn't matter as I don't keep my phones that long anyways šŸ˜…

I agree. That is why telcos are still selling 2 year contracts for most people and major UI updates no longer come with fantastic or important features like the early days of android.

Agreed, nowadays so many new smart phone launches, so many temptations, use something you really like then something newer tempts you to offload and get their newer one šŸ˜…

Yeah. Nowadays they want to sell flip phones as new trend probably to attract youngsters not exposed to the 90s phones.

Foldables and Flip are novelty nowadays but getting to be like mainstream products. Agreed on the part of attracting youngsters not exposed to the old clamshell phones.

I like flip cos it's very compact after being folded.

Flip phones are compact but the main downside is the small battery capacity. Zenfone 10 is smaller but the battery is not too far from average (around 5000 mAh) flagship size.
If they can fix the battery disparity then it can be more viable to mainstream crowd.

Yes but I personally think that battery technology, processing technology need to continue improving as a whole, improving power efficiency, power and manage the heat well. Thus no need to keep increasing battery size

Certainly, battery technology had been stagnant for very long time. Not just small phones, all smart watches and mini gadgets will benefit with newer battery technology that comes in smaller package but longer operating time.
